  1. Resurrection of an old thread but @E8OMB how have you got on with the wheel’s? I have ended up with a set of 8.5j x 19 et 32 OZ Ultraleggera HLT (drunk + eBay) which according to Willtheyfit poke the same as your BBS setup.
  2. So some drunken eBay surfing on the train home has left me with some 8.5x19 OZ ultraleggera alloys which coming off an Audi s4 B9 are probably ET38. Are these likely to rub (post fender screw mod) with 235/35 R19 on my 7R estate running Racingline Shocks and Springs? Car is a family daily so gets loaded up here and there. Would be a good excuse to get roll centre adjusters if I need to add a deg of camber 😉 thanks G
  3. Although not mode switchable not to hard to switch on before a Sunday Morning drive. would imagine it does use more juice due to higher drivetrain involvement.
  4. Be interested to find out the weight of the 18’s as they came on my car. if they are not to heavy then I may divert funds elsewhere
  5. Exactly how I find it, glad to know it is the suspension and not anything deeper
  6. Thanks for the responses. I went for the car as I had decent experience with the same setup on my MK5 R32 which also had superpro front arms and H&R ARB's. Had plenty of different setups over the years (3 sets of Bilstein B12's, Koni's with Eibach's, KW V1 and AST Coilovers) not sure how long I will be able to live with it but it may just push the Ohlins I have always lusted over being fitted quicker. Awesome had some B16 Ride Controls for £1500 black Friday deal but they were for the hatch. Anyone tried the Bilstein Evo S??
  7. They do 235/40R18 just waiting to hear back in price and lead time as no one has them advertised in the UK
  8. Quick question. is that camber all round? Do you think it would still catch with -1.2? Eyeing up some 8.5 et32 BBS which poke the same as your setup according to will they fit.
  9. Following! I am at similar miles with Stage 2 in the last 3k miles so would be grateful for any knowledge from the more knowledgeable and experienced R owners out there
  10. Thanks will have a drive with the windows open see if it sounds like tyre rubbing, had that on my old Mini CS so don’t think it is that. drove again today, it is only with throttle applied and feels like resistance to what you are trying to do like it wants to go straight when turning left out a junction. Will take it to a local specialist as it has a 6 month 6k warranty from the dealer
  11. Hi all wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. 2016 DSG Golf R Racingline DSG ECU and TCU tune spacers Racingline Shocks and Springs i have noticed when pulling out of a junction, parking manoeuvres, pulling out my drive etc if I have any sort of steering lock and I accelerate easy or hard there is a grinding noise and vibration through the front of the car. it’s quite a deep noise and only occurs in the above situations. Any help would be appreciated, car is only 2 weeks with me and is stifling my enjoyment of the car! Thanks in advance
  12. Hi I bought a R Estate last week which has the Racingline Shocks and Springs and whilst round town and country roads it rides well at motorway speeds the ride is pretty awful. It feels really tense and makes the ride feel fidgety almost like you are on a boat at sea. At 70 ish (and above in Mexico) when you hit a bump in the road the suspension takes it in it's stride you do feel it it isn't harsh and doesn't make the car go offline, it absorbs the bump and settles quickly as expected. But driving along what seems like a smooth bit of tarmac at motorway speeds the car does not feel like it can cope with anything but a dead smooth surface, could this be preload on the ARB's due to lowering? The has some 18 Pret Reps and Bridgestone All weather tyres could the be the issue? Or is it just the RL suspension kit is rubbish? I had the same kit on my old R32 and it was fine which is why having it on the car was a positive. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks G

Hi All Been around for a couple of months but after a disappointing experience with a faulty 7.5 which the dealer eventually took back I finally got what I hope is the R for me. 7 Estate 18 Pret Reps Miltek Sports Cat R600 Racingline Elbow, intake and Muffler Delete Racingline Stage 2 and TCU Racingline Springs and Shocks Maxton Rear spoiler unknown side skirts and Splitter Immediate plans RR run make sure it is running right Injector Clean, Adjustable Droplinks Roll Centre Adjusters Uprated Coil Packs Colder Plugs Steering Wheel retrim MIB2 longer term Wagner IC CSF Radiator wheel change, Wavetrac F & R Diff’s Superapro Arms Rear Camber Arms Brakes possibly an Exhaust
  14. I would pull off the pillar panel where the tweeter is first see if the water is running down that, if your drains are clean it could be the notorious VAG pano roof weak spot of the cassette bond have failed. if dry then go with the above and trace under bonnet.
  15. Shame it isn’t a 5 door if I may be able to sell it to the wife! food for thought though for an estate!
