Evening everyone, Stupid question of the day but when I input my car details I'm not sure why it gives me 4 engine types for my car. I was under the impression my 2015 DSG had 300 bhp but according to the site there is a 280, 290, 300 and 310 variance. The kit I'm interested in is the DTUK Pedal Box Plus but I assume it's the same product for all those versions? The more I think about it the more that sounds right, right? Thanks

Well… This is certainly going to cause heated debates but i feel it needs to be shown as there aren’t really any direct comparisons and like for like tests etc.. I ran my Manual 7 R standard for around 1000miles before getting a DTUK box. I ran the box for a further 4500 miles and was pretty much faultless (bar one occasion where it didn’t like some crap petrol i had to put in before i ran out!) I now have a remap by Unicorn Motor Developments in Manchester. Before i post the dyno results there are some things id like to say. The DTUK box is great for what it is. Its a way of squeezing out more power from your car whilst protecting your warranty should any problems arise. Its very easy to fit and is a great middle ground. It improves on the standard car a fair amount. Although not in my opinion as much as some people have stated. The car was run in FWD with the plug pulled. All runs were with a Revo intake fitted. Standard Results: 293bhp + 275ft/lbs DTUK Tuning Box on Original Software V1 on Setting 3+3 321bhp + 301ft/lbs (gains of 28bhp & 26ft/lbs) Enicorn Remap 358bhp + 404ft/lbs (gains of 65bhp & 129ft/lbs!) The tune is also much safer as you can see on the AFR graph.. The car is awesome now. The torque is immense in any gear and the first two gears are now MUCH improved (as well as everything else) Thanks. -
First off, anybody who is sat contemplating this (like i was for a while), do it!! This is how the car should have come from the factory, perfect amount of power and torque, the car can handle so much more than 300bhp. It's a doddle to fit too. For me, this was really the only modification i could do, i wanted to keep the car in warranty and looking standard. It has completely transformed the car though. Im currently running map 1+3, had a quick blast in 2+3 but didn't find as quick. First gear is over in a flash (as it was with standard) so the box isn't really noticeable to be honest, second i felt the car pulled through the rev range quicker, but where the box really comes alive is 3rd,4th,5th and 6th. The drive/pull through 3rd gear is addictive, it pins you into your seat. It doesn't let up into 4th either, this has now become my favourite gear (overtaking can be done so easily). The power in 5th and 6th is quite unbelievable too, it all feels effortless. (Maybe too easy if anything as you can hit ridiculous speeds very quickly, looking at your speedo often springs a surprise). I'll attach a few pictures from the install when i get on my phone. Had the car up on the ramps to install to have a mooch about underneath, its not required (all you need to do is jack it up) but who doesn't love seeing the underpinnings of the car. I was pretty impressed when underneath with the standard exhaust setup to be honest, its a pretty wide centre pipe for a standard car. You can also see the flaps mechanism at the end of the outer tail pipes, my next change might be to permanently open these (exhaust flapper mod), then i think i'll leave the car as it is.

I have just installed the VWR600 and DTUK today but I am not sure I have routed the cables the best way. Does anyone have a picture of their DTUK box installed? Thanks Jamie

I see a thread all too often in pretty every forum I've been a member of. Tuning box vs Remap or Remap n Tuning box vs Warranty. Lets be clear, if either is found out to have caused engine failure your warranty will be void. It maybe easier to unplug a tuning box but the likelihood of a tuning box causing issues in the first place are higher. Anyway, my point in this thread will be to log any issues by any member from either a remap or tuning box. This will be to include any engine fault codes, be it causing the car to go in limp mode or the hidden codes only shown when checked. Posts also welcome to users with a BOX or MAP whom Haven't had issues. Sample format for fault post: est Build week: 46 Map/Box: Box Company: DTUK Gearbox: DSG Issues: Car went into limp mode after 10 mins of spirited driving etc etc... Fixed under warranty: NO ^^ this was just an example it was in no way a dig at DTUK... Sample format for current box/mapped users post: est Build week: 46 Map/Box: Box Company: DTUK Gearbox: DSG Mileage ran with mod: 11K no issues. I think the likelihood of catastrophic failure these days are unlikely, this may put some minds at rest for opting for a remap or a tuning box. Thanks Adam.
