i must say, i haven't got up for work at 5.15am so enthusiastically since i got my S2000...  :cheesy:

it gets really misty though! will be applying FogFight this weekend  :afro:

on 225 miles now and i haven't even had it 24 hours

have used just about a full tank in that time, with an avg mpg of 25.6 or something - that's with a brand new engine and some significant mid-range acceleration, using high gears, overall 'uneconomical' driving... very impressive for such a car, it'll hit 30 no problem when run in and with a bit of restraint. not that fuel economy really matters with a car like this, i accepted 19mpg from the R32, but it is a plus-point nonetheless!!!

can't wait to run it in, get to know it more and do a detailed write up. you all know i love my detailed writing

EDIT: thinking of it this way is astounding; the R has the same power/torque as a V8 did 10-15 years ago... and uses less than half the fuel. absolutely astonishing, really... as much as i hate it, even an avid N/A freak like me is beginning to be converted... :o

Or do all boats from Emden dock up north and transport all vehicles south by road?  So depending on the time / day of your text you have to find which boat left Emden on here at the same time to work out which boat your car is on?  Perhaps that is a little OTT even for me then!

Deliveries to the North of England & Scotland go into Tynemouth.

Deliveries to the Midlands to into Grimsby.

Deliveries to the South go to Sheerness.

The above is not totally clear cut but gives a rough idea.  I'd imagine your car will go to Sheerness if you live on the south coast.

here's a quick snap of mine! what a colour ;) shame it's filthy already!

and a photo of the fuel economy achieved on the way to work this morning (on a calm, yet not granny-like, drive). an 11-mile trip, mixed city and A-roads. very impressive; literally identical to what the Type R got, but this is a brand spanker with an extra 150kg, 4WD, and a brand new engine with double the torque and 50% more power! this car is a marvel! need to hurry up and run it in so i can give it a boot, i'm dying to feel the full acceleration lol

So is that 28.5?  Over 25% less than the suggested figures pretty poor how companies get away with this these days.  You would rather they were honest.  Figures are similar to the Focus ST I had for a while they claimed around 40 but in reality and not driving like an idiot you would only get around 27.  In my Scooby's they seem to be more realistic and 'normal' driving pretty much was as predicted again around 27.  I'm not complaining but you would prefer if there was a 'real' world mpg so you could compare cars to each other.

go on, spill the beans...!!

I ran the delivery guy back to the local train station and took the extended way home. I would have liked more time to play but I've got to get a report out later and I've got sh!t to do, so it's sitting there on the drive rather frustratingly.  :banghead:

Initial 20 mile drive today, feels very tight, no rattles or squeaks. Pretoria's look amazing, ride height spot on. Traction incredible, hoofing it off the line or out of a junction even on greasy muddy surfaces - no drama. Where the 1.2 Polo I was driving in the interim would scrabble for grip, the R just goes. No drama, no wheelspin, just launch. I think I'm going to have to be really misbehaving to break traction. In Race mode, it sharpens up a bit and gets maybe 5-10% louder. A few 2nd/3rd/4th gear squirts confirms it's pretty quick, I've been in faster stuff in my time (997 GT3, 996TT, R33 GTR), but for an everyday car it's probably plenty quick enough, certainly enough to dispatch a third gear overtake with no drama. Should be a good everyday runner. For people that aren't used to fast cars it will blow their mind. I took my brother out for 10 minutes and let him have a go, he's not a petrolhead in the slightest and runs a Citroen C1, and half throttle scared him to death. Maybe I'm just a bit desensitised to it? I'd like to experience a Stage 1 remap.

Needs a clean now though, it's dirty already, that's tomorrow's job. In the meantime I've got work to do. The joys of running your own business....  :nerd:
