Stop Start Error

So the past week I’ve noticed that I’m occasionally getting a stop start error, saying there is a fault with the system.

I did a scan with my obd and got the error code “Battery terminal recognition open circuit”, I cleared it and it started working again but it has re appeared today. I’ve had a quick look at the battery and can’t see anything wrong with it.

Anyone had a similar issue or know what might be causing it?

I had the same issue, it started occurring after they done a software update on the parking brake.

When i took it for its service I mentioned the fault and they said they reinstalled the software for the brake and I haven’t seen it since.

Might not be the same issue as yours but I had the same fault code when I used my OBD scanner!

I never really understood the problem but I noticed mine would idle at about 1000rpm when I had the stop start error as well.

I'm Brazilian and around here I haven't found any solution.

My car gets heavy driving
start stop error
Fan does not pass speed 3

It rarely gives warning of low battery and keyless error. Very rarely.

I already changed the negative cable, the one that goes to the battery pole.
Alternator.
I already replaced the battery, for an original one.
And I've already cleared all grounds, ends and nothing.

And every time I try to resolve it is necessary to disconnect the terminals. This resets q causes the problem to take a long time to reappear.

Has a friend already solved this problem and could inform the diagnosis?

Usually 1. battery, 2. terminals or ground wire corrosion,  3. charging issue.

With # 1 being way more common than the other two.

Some contributors to # 3 are:

- Short runs and/or heavy traffic where the battery never gets charged up properly

- Car sitting unused for long periods allowing charge to drop down too much

- Aftermarket electrical changes causing parasitic drain (eg dash cam, ICE, extra/different lights )

- Leaving ICE/lights on, or charging phone when engine not running
