I am currently driving a mk7.5 golf r, and have been since late 2017. Had plenty of golf's in the past including a couple of mk1's and a few mk2's one of which I shoehorned a vr6 into. My current R is stock apart from a tdi tuning box, and a few twaeks using obdeleven. Interested in a meet around the Surrey area, if anyone is up for it. Best advice is to join the FB Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1541477379484574/) and keep an eye on the events section 👍 Any plans to take the tuning stage any further than the TDI Box? Happy with the power gains as it is, may look to fit a cold air intake and upgrade the intercooler, best thing about the tdi box it's adjustable right from your phone (if you opt for the Bluetooth option), it can be turned off completely within the app, and god forbid I sell the r I can send it back to be reconfigured to my next car.
