Hi & welcome.  Hope you’re getting on well with your R.  They punch hard in lots of areas, and are lovely to own, doing anything you ask of them. In all weathers.
Do you have plans to tune, modify as Rs lap that up too.  Lots on here to help with whatever you fancy with your car, and good craick too.
What colour, spec do you have. Like to share? Pics always welcome too.

Thank you both, it’s black but don’t know the official colour name and it’s completely standard on spec as I think the winter pack was a standard feature. Basically running it in as it had very low mileage then thinking about a stage one as it not priced too badly but balancing this against the warranty.
I’ve read lots on the forum on various subjects so really enjoying the access to to it.

I drove a new GTI CS but wanted the 4motion and to keep below the 40k road tax bracket, after running the M3 for three years so managed to tick all the boxes with this.
Photos will follow and I’m sure lots more questions as for now, lots more driving😀

Hi all, newbie R lady here. 3rd golf in a row however!

Had my limestone grey mk7 R with black Pretoria’s for about a month now. Had a few extras added by previous owners- extra glass tint, black front splitter, side skirts, & rear lights upgraded to facelift versions. Still undecided on whether to keep the splitter/skirts etc. 🤔

Welcome to VWROC Nic.

:welcome:

Your new R sounds a lovely colour abd wheel combo.  Good to hear you’re loving it, they are great cats.  You should get a welcome thread of your own up and share some pics of yours when you can.

Really interested in golf r mk7 +, I’m a dad of 2 young boys and mid 30’s myself, what sort of spec or extras would you guys recommend looking out for when purchasing.

An R can be many things to many people!  What budget do you have in mind?  Are you leaning towards an Estate/ Wagon or the regular hatch?  Both great. Estate not so prolific.  Be warned that Prices are unnaturally high at the moment - great if you’re selling, but not so much if you’re buying.  Goodness knows how long this will last. 😀

Welcome along!

Might be a good idea to have a good browse of the mk7 chat section and post up a specific thread in that section, as this is another member’s welcome thread, so more appropriate there and you might get a better and more relevant response if it’s in the mk7 chat section.  Leather might be a consideration with two young kids as it wipe clean but then again you can get fabric sealant which is great guarding against spills.
