silent_rep
Currently running stage 2 tvs ecu /tcu tune and it goes really well , i'm wondering if an Airtec intercooler will make a noticeable difference in power? In two minds, do i spend some extra money on some new Michelin's or a new intercooler?
ToRnado_R
That depends on whether you want more grip or more power/cooler IAT'sYou should not be running shoddy tires anyways so the correct answer is more powa! marshy and silent_rep
silent_rep
Grip is fine tbh mate, running pretty much new Pirelli P Zero's all round, i understand the MPS4S are the ones to have though. Just unsure if the Airtec will actually make more power or just keep things a bit cooler when it's hot out?

I have been looking at TVS Ecu/TCU but not sure is Stage 1 or 2 for ecu, until I can do the downpipe. If your keen on new tyres, winter is coming, put some nice winter/all season tyres on? I'm going to find out if Michelin CrossClimate 2's are any good. silent_rep

It was already mapped by a different company when i bought the car, they had gutted the stock cats and mapped it 'stage 2' but it never really felt like the 400 suggested on the printout so got it to my local tuner (CLP Automotive) and they did the rest, goes like stink now. Thanks, is yours the estate? If so, what you have just mentioned is in my basket for CLP, TVS ECU&TCU, Miltek DP and system, just gotta find some pennies Also just been looking at OEM+ FREE UPGRADE FROM STAGE 1 , pretty interesting for upgrades to different stages and free reset on if you want it removed, so really torn, but got some time to think about it😩
mp2811
I’d say it’s not going to be noticeable difference. I live in Australia and been running stock IC on stage 1/2 HO APR tunes last 7 years. Ive had no issues with heat soak but I don’t track car, not driving at peak times of day. I believe if you upgrade IC you’ll prob get 10hp peak more possibly is that going to be noticeable at 400hp I would say not. Im not saying IC upgrade isn’t good for car/turbo etc but it’s not going to make big difference unless you’re in hot climate and pushing car hard often. I upgraded eibach springs amd mp4s tyres about 18 months ago and car is like on rails. I had already done rear ARB which is best handling upgrade to do. If your tyres are fine I would just wait until time to change before swapping. Personally I would go rear ARB and springs. Handling upgrade and slightly improved stance over tyres or IC. Only you know how you drive your car and if you’re suffering heat soak. Do you track it? If the answer is yes then upgrade for sure. If answer is no then not needed. You don't really need the Milltek exhaust either, DP is what's necessary. HUGE difference from stock, good luck with it mate.

Already running KW V3's and Clubsport S brakes, intercooler/apr coilpacks are a probably the last of the few hardware missing really for max stage 2 i think. Not done the rear ARB though so will look into that, thanks.

Msportman
I did some logging with APR when they were refining APR Stage 2 in the UK a few years ago and my intake charge temps indicated their intercooler was doing a fine job of keeping low optimum intake temps especially under repeated load. On track it never looses power even in mid summer. I had the APR FMIC installed when I went APR HO Stage 2. mp2811
