kevintaper1
I’m not a Lane Assist fan so it gets switched off each journey. The 8.5R doesn’t have a button on the end of the stalk so Lane Assist has to be disabled via the Assist menu (via the infotainment screen) or, by accessing the assist menu using a steering wheel buttons if you have the dash screen in a particular ‘view’. If you have obdeleven you can switch if the lane assist permanently, one of only a few things you can do so farSent from my SM-S918B using Tapatalk Burble and Booth11

I was pretty sure that this didn't work through coding when I originally tried on on getting the car. But I have just tried it again and has worked which if fab! Cheers! AHG
2 hours ago, EXCESSIONOCP said: Hello all! So my car has developed an annoying rattle ('25 R Black). It sounds like it's coming from the front right of the cabin somewhere, but it's so hard to actually pinpoint it as with any rattle in a car. I've taken all loose items out of the door pockets, glove box, arm rest cubby etc and it's still there. It's most obvious on broken road surface (so everywhere I drive these days then!). Does anyone have any suggestions for common causes or should I be taking it into the dealer for them to investigate? Thanks! I wonder what else OBD11 can now do with the 8.5?

I did the long coding as in link below I don’t use 1-click apps as you don’t know what’s being altered - they are not to be trusted. 😄 Might have to have a play about to see what else can now be done although there isn’t really anything else I want, except maybe Stop/Start but I highly doubt that’s possible as they removed that possibility with the 7.5 onwards. Can you send a picture of where and what that is ? don’t think I remember this being discussed here It was my mk8 that it was on - see here https://www.vwroc.com/forums/topic/39023-mk8r-golf-r-gremlins/?do=findComment&comment=645258
scuderiafolene
Just got the car back from shop. I must say I think I had a gremlin without knowing about it. Last year(its a 2024 September) car when sitting on idle car had tiny vibrations, no RPM dependency more then 1-200 read by a tool, but I never thought anything about it. Just before winter rest I got a check engine light. Checked the code and it was P0068, activated just after service. Booked it in now before season starts and they changed the MAP sensor on the intake(i am not aware of any other MAP so wierd to say it like that) and re-calibrated the throttle and took a spin. They did something else that I forgot, maybe reset adaptations or something. Now. Its a completely different car. The idle is like a Rolls Royce. Car still pulls the same so no improvement on power but wow. I know they wont touch the car without the CEL but maybe this can help someone if you feel the car shakes more then it should on idle. omer
Hi all, I have a Golf Mk8.5 1.5 eTSI and I’m trying to track down a thin metallic trim rattle from the driver’s side lower dash area. At first I thought it was coming from the OBD port / fuse box cover under the steering wheel. I removed that cover and applied cloth/fleece tape to all the contact points and tabs, but the noise is still there. The sound is most noticeable over rough roads and small bumps. It’s not a dull plastic creak; it sounds more like a thin metallic trim buzz/rattle from behind or around the fuse box / OBD cover area. Has anyone had a similar rattle from this area on a Mk8 or Mk8.5? Could it be related to the lower driver knee panel, knee airbag area, metal bracket, wiring loom, clips, or something behind the fuse box cover? If anyone has solved this, what exactly was the source and fix? Felt tape, securing wiring, reseating clips, or dealer repair? Thanks. I removed the fuse box / OBD cover panel completely and the rattle is still present, so I don’t think the cover itself is the source. Photo here: https://imgur.com/a/DJ27aja Unfortunately cannot view the image. Rattles are really hard to track down as they can sound like they’re coming from one place and the source turns out to be quite different. Might be worth checking a few other spots. Common sources are the screw cover caps on the lower rear of the centre console, which can rattle (removing them resolves this- need to shunt the front seats fully forward to access them. Sunvisor mirror can sometimes rattle. I’ve had the plastic end caps on seat rails rattle. Seatbelt can rattle either at the height adjustment point or where it goes into b pillar.
