  1. Until I hear that VW have managed to produce peak torque on this thing anywhere close to 2000rpm, I'll file this concept under 'Don't care'.
  2. The reason why I sold my Mk5 R32 years back. The DSG was fruitloops. Faulty mechatronic Co Control module I was told, but traded it in first.
  3. Well after only 9 months of ownership, I'm moving on as I simply cannot put up with the build quality. I know that this won't be accepted well, but the Mk7 R is the worst car I have owned for a very long time. Build quality issues were. 1. Unacceptable condensation in headlights. 2. Knocking noise emitting from OSF top mount. 3. Noise coming from turbo on part throttle and cruise. 4. Clunking noise from clutch 5. Fuel line vibrates on floor. 6. Exhaust heat shield rattles. 7. Badly corroded exhaust trims. 8. Badly rusted brake centres. 9. Upper interior light panel vibrates. 10. Armrest rattles badly. 11. Dash vibrates badly in Race mode. I thought the DRC issue on my B7 RS4 was bad, but this is more a culmination of many issues rather than a single bad design.
  4. Sounds like the perfect technique. Unlike when my wife decided that she would remove the baked on bird poo from the bonnet of my new e90 M3 one day when she took it to work. She used a dry paper towel and ground the baked on poo into the paintwork, thinking that she was doing the right thing. Needless to say, she didn't do the "right thing". DA wet - sanded the entire bonnet. She's banned from anything other than driving them!
  5. Cars are not so much a reflection of wealth, masculinity or sexual preference these days...therefore I couldn't care less which of these won and why I just let idiot's past when they want to demonstrate their superiority on a public road. Couldn't actually give a f*&k about all that Fast & Furious bollocks. I buy a car for me, not to look better than the neighbours or to be quicker than your local drug dealer going about his daily routine in his 15 year old Subaru. However...in the end...the A45 still looks like some sort of 90's Daewoo and it makes me chuckle when they go blasting past me, as if to be taken seriously as a "real performance car", and not the knee-jerk last minute creation that it was in order for Mercedes to plug a market gap. It's widely known within Mercedes that the thing was thrown together and numerous corners cut. Just another shiny product designed to make other people wealthy. Hope that's been an inspiration. Have a great day!
  6. Unfortunately a common issue with waterborne paints. Apply GTechniq EXO. Also it depends largely on what the birds have been feasting on. It's not as acidic where I live so I'm guessing they live on a diet of rice crackers. Prevention is better than a cure as it tends to etch in by around 50 micron, so paint correction run the risk of breaching the topcoat or distorting reflections due to removal of too much clearcoat. Invest in a good sealant - much cheaper than a respray.
  7. My trim has started to lift...which I'm quite happy about as those stupid fins make it look like an aftermarket spoiler for a 5dr Nissan Micra...and a handlebar moustache.
  8. Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately after years of watching Blue Peter I'm not all that into SBP ("Sticky Backed Plastic").
  9. Really?...It's not THAT quick. I just drive normally, it's much slower than other cars I've owned so it doesn't really entertain all that much when I push the go pedal...and you just look like a chav.
  10. I have DCC. It adds a level of flexibility.
  11. Waterborne paint. Thank EU legislation for that.
