Is it bad to sit with foot on the brake at junctions for more than a few seconds? is the dsg box designed to cope with this? I find myself putting it in to nuetral as i cant help bit feel its bad for the car to be in 1st gear but held back by the brake.

I've never understood the ford thing, always thought they look and feel cheap. Always been a German car man. Don't see the appeal of fords personally and really don't know how the focus RS's command so much money, it's mind boggling.

Can't comment on exactly how accurate they are but I'm sure they are only activated when in reverse. So if you pull out or pull up to something in first gear they don't activate no matter how close.

I can relate to this. It's very expensive for what is just an oil service. With my last Audi I had already had the oil and filter from TPS (at a very cheap offer price) I spoke to the audi main dealer who wanted £200 odd for the oil service and I literally said its expensive for a minor/lubrication service when I already have the parts. Their reply... No problem we can fit your parts and just charge you labour. So I was fairly happy with that. They charged me £65 to chance the oil and filter, and I get my dealer service stamp. Might be worth asking VW dealer to do that. Can't see why they wouldn't if Audi main dealers are more than happy to. Just goes to show how much they are charging you for the oil and filter!!!

Absolutely hate that. Next time it happens to me I'm going to quiz the offender if I see them to see what makes them do this.
