  1. That's an impressive collection!!! Which are your favourites to drink? Have you visited any distilleries?
  2. I got my R7 estate oil change service done today for £149 inc VAT at Lookers of Morden VW dealership in Morden, Surrey. They were cheaper than a local independent VW specialist, who wanted £163.
  3. The official estate sunblinds are a good option. I've got them on my estate and they work well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Ah, the good old Catholic method
  5. If you're taking about Sutton Tesco on the bypass then I can't help as I don't go there. I do regularly fill up with Shell V-power at the Shell garage on Cheam Road near Sutton High School for Girls and never have a problem with their pumps. Have you tried there at all? 6. Yep, would have been me collecting my son from nursery I didn't see you though...sorry!
  7. I've only just seen the thread. I use iMazing to back up my iPhone 7 plus on my MacBook Pro. It is available direct from them (search google). I'm local to you if you want some help or a gander at it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Other standouts for me: The customised MkII Golf G60 with the full (and I mean full!) leather interior. The MkII Golf GTI in metallic green (the owner lives round the corner from me and was a thoroughly nice bloke to talk to). The Lancia Delta Integrale that won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1986 (see fast golf's photo above). The Peugeot 205 GTI. The restored MkI Golf GTI that was for sale for £12,500 The Renault Alpine (it was near the skid pan area on the pit lane straight of the race track). The Renault Clio V6 with the maxed out engine mods in the back! The Alfa Guilia from Italy I must admit the Fords got repetitive and I didn't make it round to the cars to the right as you walked in onto the race track from the public car park. This meant I missed my friend's VW Jetta that was round there. On the way down I got racing against a 66 plate BMW M140i. It was a lot of fun but a couple of times I had to back off as the speeds went nuts! The drive home was epic as I was behind a bright orange Lotus Exige with a huge rear wing/spoiler, that was at the back of a convoy of various sporty cars that had been at the show.
  9. Shell V-Power for me too. Even if it's 9p a litre more than Momentum. That's only £4.95 a tank full (55 litres). I probably do two full tanks a month so for the extra £10-odd it's a no brainer to me. Added to which, I have 3 Shell petrol stations within 15 minutes drive, the nearest being 5 mins away. However, when I get my driving school car in a few weeks, it'll the cheapest fuel going in most cases. Although at least it will be a business expense and so tax deductible
  10. I went too, but mine was in the public car park. I loved looking at the MkI and MkII Golf GTIs. I think I saw the Lapiz Blue Golf with the scratches and swirls. Mine's beginning to show a few which were possibly there from dealer prep. I think I'll have to do a 2-stage DA polish on it in the spring when it gets a bit warmer.
  11. http://www.vwroc.com/forums/topic/13888-lockwood-international-sill-protectors-mk7-r-official-group-buy-thread/ I got mine from Lockwood and they're very good.
  12. What was the number plate? I'm not very far from you either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Oh and definitely get the official VW G7R sunblind pack. You will not regret it - they not only stop sunlight glare for the little ones in the back but also give your car the appearance of having super dark tinted windows, which looks good and gives extra security as no-one can see inside.
  14. Maxi Cosi Rodi for us. One annoyance is that there don't seem to be Isofix anchors for the front passenger seat. In my Audi A6 I was able to stick on kid in front to allow two adults and the other child seat to fit across the rear bench. But the Golf 7R estate doesn't go e that option, unless I just use a seatbelt mounting, which I am loathe to do.
  15. I have the very same problem when I set off in the rain from home, as I have to wind down the front windows to hear any cars coming up or down my road, due to there being tallish hedges between the pavement and carriageway. As soon as I wind down the window in the G7R estate, the water cascades into the passenger compartment, over the door rest, switches, floor and my right leg. Yet in my Audi A6 estate, they designed the roofline to allow the rainwater to run only forwards or backwards as there was a small gutter effect built in. I never realised that would be the one thing I'd miss the most from the Audi!
