  1. They're crap - I got a set and they didn’t line up correctly.
  2. Mine did exactly the same 2 weeks ago. I'd just jumped on the M62 and i got the same warning. luckily was just under minimum, so I topped up with water and will monitor the situation. I've probably done 200 miles since and it hasn't reappeared. Mine is 2017 with 22K on clock. I assumed with the hot weather it might have suffered slightly with evaporation (not that I'm a mechanic) due to the hot weather we've had over the last 8 weeks or so.
  3. The MRC agent in Leeds told me when I spoke to them! The MRC Website also states " Stage 1 MRC Developed generic tune for all standard cars". That's pretty much black and white to me? http://www.mrctuning.com/index.php/remapping/ What other manufacturers do Custom Code/JBS Remap? Their website tends to suggest they are VAG only. http://www.custom-code.co.uk/
  4. Yeah JBS seem to be the big bad wolf of the forum community! I got VVT Attack software intalled on the MK5, that was money well spent! It's a toss up between JBS and Unicorn. MRC are out of the race because it's a generic map, and an expensive one at that!
  5. Morning, I'm looking for peoples feedback from members that have the JBS remap on their R? After a lot of research I've decided to go with them. I've spoken to MRC and seen the online discussions around Unicorn and yes they both seem amazing. I wanted to know your opinion before paying my deposit and potentially switching to Unicorn for me the reason why I'm swaying towards JBS is because for the cost they were offering a custom remap at stage 1, something MRC do not offer unfortunately. They have an ECO map around 330bhp and a full fat version in normal and race around the 360bhp mark. They'll also offer the crackle map, but with a standard exhaust is almost pointless I'm told. As part of the deal they're providing the TCU remap too I've purchased the TT pipe, and will do the airbox modification to get the most out of the air inlet but for me that's enough power etc. I'm a long term customer of theres, this will be the 4th vehicle I've had remapped with them, but really wanted current users views and feedback, the good the bad and the ugly etc before I commit to spending all that money. Thanks Matt
  6. Morning folks, I'm slowly getting my 2017 R ready for a remap, however I know the brakes will be a weak spot so I'm trying to understand the options around the S3 and RS3 big Brake kits. I have the Pretoria's with 10MM spacers on the front. There's a couple of Red calipers from the Audi TTS for sale. Will these fit using the existing carriers or will I need to get some fabricated? Are they 4 pot calipers? I presume I can use the existing discs, but with some upgraded pads (DS2500's) and a set braided hoses. The alternative would be an RS3/TTRS upgrade. would these fit using the existing carriers and using the existing discs or am I better off buying them as a kit width the larger discs etc? I'm looking for a cheap but effective upgrade, not interested in spending thousands unless I really have to. I'm after some advice from the experts! Thanks Growler.
  7. Unless I m doing something wrong I’m also against CarPlay. I have a business Phone and personal too. If I have my personal phone locked into CarPlay then my business Phone will not Bluetooth into the system and therefore cannot use hands free Its a good system but it has it’s downfalls.
  8. Enjoy! What's the spec like?
  9. Followed a lapiz blue estate on the m6 from Preston to Warrington yesterday, 5th Feb. Anyone off here?
  10. I’ve used Vastech before in Harrogate. Can’t fault their workmanship. Rectified my haldex issues on a MK6 and sorted out the warranty claim with the warranty company and carried out a couple of services and an MOT on my MK6. Id consider them a safe pair of hands. Hope me this helps.
  11. Morning all, I've been searching the forum along with google and I'm getting some mixed messages. I'm currently downloading the map update from the link below. (24GB Download) and I've been reading that I need to transfer the file to an SD Card. The site wants me to visit VW for a card (and I don't want to) and would like to know which SD Card and format will be the right version to complete the task. http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/how-to-guides/sat-nav Can you help out by providing links or brands, sizes and formats of SD Cards that work so I can purchase one for when the download completes in a couple of hours? I was hoping that Car-Net would automatically download the maps and update over WLAN, but it appears not to be that advanced. (Or it could be user error) Is there a specific SD slot that I need to stick the card in for the download? Would it be handy if we had an official "HOW TO" for this?
  12. I recognise majority of those streets around the nice areas of Bradford. It really made my blood boil, but it just highlighted how quick our R's are. We're not all like that from Bradford, however the link below is quite alarming. This happened a little too close for comfort and nearly put me off buying the R. http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/crime/schoolboy-s-six-and-a-half-year-sentence-after-terrifying-armed-carjacking-robberies-in-west-yorkshire-1-8662556

  14. It's a fantastic piece of kit. I had mine installed on day 1 of picking up my car. There's a video on the group buy from Safe and Sound, that's my motor! For me it was far more important to have this over a tracker. It gives you peace of mind. Hope this helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
