No probs bud, will be interesting to see [emoji106] one thing that does my head in is cruddy tail pipes and the R suffers badly with it ha ha. I feel like im forever cleaning them so i was thinking a dark titanium maybe gunmetal sort of colour would help hide it slightly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Awesome job there jeff [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds good, is black chrome like gloss black or like a dark titanium sort of? I was thinking of darkening mine off but not black so they still look metal if that makes sense. Would still like a difference between the them and the rear diffuser. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks bud, they where £39 a piece i think so around £80 for the pair. Ordered from auto doc and cannot fault them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Finally fitted new rear discs and pads today. The old ones where scored and knackered. Went with brembo coated so no more rusty hubs or rotor edges hopefully [emoji1695] Old scored ones New coated brembo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks bud, i was going to go in today but ordered from auto doc instead. Went for the brembo rear 310mm plain coated and pads to match, should be ok hopefully. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another daft question but does anyone know what size rear pads you need? Euro car has different size options. (Standard calipers) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Never been a big Subaru fan to be fair, only liked the older impreza’s but i was a lot younger then ha ha but i will admit thats quite nice your legacy, a little more subtle than the Impreza imo which is a good thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks bud really appreciate that [emoji106] Think I’ve sorted it though. I had my exhaust valves coded open but recently had a resonator delete fitted the other week. It hums like a good one on a motorway run so wanted to code them back on to see if it helped soften the drone a bit. Cant really say i noticed much difference other than it been quieter when in eco overall but still drones at higher constant speed. Anyway I’ve coded them back open ha ha dropped the soundaktor to 80% too to take the edge off it which i quite like, its a little less intrusive and doesn’t vibrate the dash as much now. The only one i wanted to do but cannot find the right channels for was increase the day light running LED’s a little bit, not much just a bit more but its no biggie so I’m happy without messing with them to be fair. Waiting for OBD eleven to come onto IOS and then il pick that up. vcds is very good but it can be a bit confusing and long winded ay. I was going to buy a cheap tablet purely for obd eleven but now they are going to release an ios version i will wait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Whatever or however it looks and performs it will still be no where near the RS3 or the A45 which is a shame. Ive read some articles actually saying it will be less power output than the current version due to emissions and new Rules/regs. I hope not but I can see that to be honest. Is it true that the newest R’s currently coming off the line are only producing around 285 bhp due to this new kind of dpf filter for petrols thing on them and other emissions stuff? Im hopeful for a decent rework to pop up and at least 350 hp to try and keep up with its rivals, 400 would be nice but I’m doubtful (zero hybridisation though because that will ramp the cost up significantly and weight etc...) I cant see a kind of plus model either as it doesnt really make much sense in a business way. Theres already alot of golf variants and unless it was a significant jump i dont think it would catch on. A stripped out, no seats in the back and 15hp more R is not something i would be looking at lol and definitely not with the price hike that would bring either. On another hand I actually wouldn’t be surprised if vw scrapped the R altogether and went more with GTI variants and GTE/hybrid golfs lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agree i dont think what mine does is what was originally mentioned by the op or others. When i say cold i dont mean ambient temperature, im referring to the car itself ie engine/oil isnt warmed up. Might have to try and get a recording of it just for reference here to see if its a similar sound to others. It actually kind of sounds like worn/rusty discs grating if that makes sense. Yes is a weird one, went for a brisk drive out today and then plugged in once i got home, no faults and nothing a miss, tried s bit of live data while running and seems all ok. I will keep this thread updated as i go but hoping there is nothing to update with [emoji1695] Yeah im good thanks bud, same old. Had a few operations for my bowel issues last year but all good and back to full throttle again now [emoji6] hope alls well your end [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi lou, yes I have saved and cleared bud. Will see if it pops back up again. Maybe just an odd throw up I’m hoping. Not had it before in the 2 years I’ve had the car and hopefully it wont come up again. Like i say I’ve never had the engine management light come up and not noticed anything at any point seem amiss with the car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How often has your autonomous emergency braking kicked in?
Lee63 replied to goodbadboy's topic in VW Golf R MK7 Chat
Mines actually kicked in a fair few times for no real reason (seems to do it more when its dreary wet weather) but it has done it a few times when I’ve admittedly maybe been a bit late breaking, I was way, way off the car in front though. Also Found when I have been coming around bends and there is traffic on the other side its kicked it in too [emoji29] I honestly do not like the thing and wish it could be permanently turned off and not just until the car is restarted again. Although it is handy for anyone not paying attention or fully focused when driving. Great for when your texting or sorting your hair out [emoji6] (obviously thats a joke, before anyone asks [emoji6]) Seriously though it does have some benefits like if someone pulls out or cuts you up but that been said it doesn’t do all the work for you, its never fully applied on me and that has been proven on numerous shows when its not worked and completely flattened the manakin without stopping lol. It starts to apply the brakes and flashes/beeps but its still down to you to brake and stop the car etc... imho its a lazy driver feature, if your paying enough attention to what your doing, the road ahead and around you then there is no real need for it. Not noticed mine whine when stationary as such but it does give a whine sound when turning the wheel (more noticeable at full lock) as i do a 3 point turn on my driveway to pull off when its cold. Not noticed it once its warmed up though or at any other time for that matter. (15 plate) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know which colour you are referring too [emoji6] its similar but not lapiz Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does anyone know What the size is for the rear discs on a golf r 15 plate? There seems to be a few options or is it genuinely different sizes on them all? Im due a set of rear discs and pads so curious to the exact size. Maybe its a case of measure whats on mine but i Was hoping there was just a one size for all. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Doesnt sound like the rubber is much good on it at present so some better tyres will help. It definitely shouldnt be giving obvious front wheel spin though. Not long had my haldex service done at my local vag indy with pump off and strainer/gauze cleaned. The indy showed me a pic of all the gunk around the strainer. VW DO NOT clean the pump out hence why i used indy. Oh and no its not possible to remove the pump without dropping the oil unfortunately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi all, So after having a go with VCDS today i ran a fault scan and these came up I cant recall ever having the EPC light on or issues while driving at all so wondering if this is one to worry about? Its from beginning of last month too and the car has been fine to my knowledge. Had a quick look on the web but nothing really there. Any one shed any light? Just for info the car is not tuned, has a de resonator and a foam panel filter fitted thats it. Run it on tesco momentum 99 only. Cheers, Lee Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
