Thought I'd best chip in. I've run winters for years as part of my job entails being in the Swiss Alps during winter. I'm looking at options now for 17" alloys to fit over the brakes and then probably a set of Michelin Alpin 5's in 205 50 17. I'm looking at OEM alloys and keep seeing the Sima crop up. Anyone fitted these?
Collected my 7.5 from FX Detailing on Sunday. It was in for new car detail, PPF front end to A pillars and ceramic coating on the rest. Interior was also protected and when my winters go on the Spielberg’s will be getting a clean and seal.
Im very happy with the work and results. If anyone in the Midlands is interested in getting their investment protected please google FX Detailing and give Miles a call
Tyre choices I'm ok with. I've run winters for years. I like the Contis, but wasn't that impressed with the TS850P. Ran those on my Audi last couple of years and thought the Michelin Alpine was a better tyre. Not tried the 860 though. I also rate the Hankooks.
It was more a question if rim options. I'm told the Dijons fit over the calipers? And I'd like to go 17's purely on cost and tyre choice.
Thanks everyone. Love the look of the car and the drive is just awesome.
I think there is a difference with the DCC. Comfort feels more supple than the standard ride.
Plans for mods mods are simple cosmetics at the moment. Nothing serious.
First issue is a set of winters. The R will be doing at least one Alpine trip this winter so I need some ideas. I'm told 17s go over the calipers ok. Anyone got any experience with this?
The forum seems a nice place to be. Thanks for the welcomes
