Haha well good luck with it all Stu mate. I’ve been in the same position and it was pretty crap. It frustrated me massively with how upset i was over a car lol but it’s a big part of our lives so you may aswell have one you enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is wet, but you’ve got the R. Not a Fwd civic now. This is where the R, and the Quattro cars come into there own. [emoji12][emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That doesn’t sound like you’re going to be too far off the mark then. They do sell well especially with those options. Good luck to you mate. But maybe give it a few more runs out, I now have the S3. Which is far nicer than my own R was but I dare say, it’s less of an adrenaline rush compared to the way the R is/was. Hi all, update time. The Audi dealer was beyond useless. The Q5 sold to a lovely local couple who’d been looking for one for a while. Sold for what I’d say and I hope they’d agree was a fair price. It helped that the Audi warranty and everything I was “given” when I bought it was transferable. I then set a few saved searches on eBay. And asked around in a few forums and ended up with a 2014 S3. With only 30k miles and a decent spec. Bought off a great guy who was only selling it because he didn’t want to sell his RS6 and was building a house and needed the money for that. So all worked out in the end! I’m glad I went for the S3 as I’d have never have been happy with an R again as the one I was rid of would have taken some beating for the budget I had unfortunately. 9. Some people’s private plates are pretty crap to be honest. Either that or your probably on the money with what your thinking lol. A fair few stolen ones about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Another vote for an RS6 from me! It’s gotta be the ultimate all rounder! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I doubt it’s coolant, burning water would turn the car into a smoke cannon all the time. My money is still on turbo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Blue smoke on idle is often turbo seals. They work on pressure differential I believe so with the turbo spooling the leak will be minimal. On idle they leak. I also agree with the oil in the exhaust it will take a while to burn. Depending on how much is in there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Another thought as I’m looking to buy one at the minute too the blue seems to hold its value best. So if only keeping a year.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’m on the look out for a nice early ish pre 16. 7R with a dsg box. I’ve been trawling eBay/ autotrader etc. When buying a used DSG 7R what milage should I decide will be too high? We plan to keep this probably 3-4 years and will do roughly 12k per year. I am seeing a few very nice cars with 70-85k miles. I mean at 5-6 years old that’s roughly 12k-15k per year. Have dsg boxes been known to throw any tantrums other than the mechatronics? fsh is a must for me. what else should I be bearing in mind and looking for/asking about before viewing? I would prefer a stage 1-2 car to save me the hassle and cash of doing this when I buy one anyway. Are there any mappers to avoid buying a car with there software on? any advice I would be very grateful of, thanks Jack
