To be fair, I’m not sure. I think it does whine a bit in most gears. I often wonder if I only hear it in 4th due to other noises being lesser. As when it’s getting some hammer you can’t hear it over the exhaust. I’m going to do the oil and see where that leaves it, I’ve read they do whine and it never overheats or miss shifts or anything strange. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I saw an etron for the first time a few months back. Wow looked mega. But definitely electric has to be the way forward. I just like many, have a few doubts on how they’ll be in 3-6 years time when folk like me normally buy cars. Battery’s deteriorate and certainly aren’t cheap to replace. Very recently I have noticed I get a whining noise from the car when I’m properly booting under full throttle high rpm. Normally when it is in a gear slightly higher than it should be and hasn’t kicked down. I am a bit concerned that it’s could turbo noise. As I didn’t have this with my previous 7R. Although this is the first dsg I’ve had and hear they can be whiney.. The car is a 63 S3 on 32k miles. Sorry I know it’s not actually a 7R but the Audi forums are terrible in vwroc is great. That doesn’t sound like you’re going to be too far off the mark then. They do sell well especially with those options. Good luck to you mate. But maybe give it a few more runs out, I now have the S3. Hi all, update time. The Audi dealer was beyond useless. The Q5 sold to a lovely local couple who’d been looking for one for a while. Sold for what I’d say and I hope they’d agree was a fair price. It helped that the Audi warranty and everything I was “given” when I bought it was transferable. I then set a few saved searches on eBay. And asked around in a few forums and ended up with a 2014 S3. With only 30k miles and a decent spec. Bought off a great guy who was only selling it because he didn’t want to sell his RS6 and was building a house and needed the money for that. So all worked out in the end! I’m glad I went for the S3 as I’d have never have been happy with an R again as the one I was rid of would have taken some beating for the budget I had unfortunately.
