Sorry for a bit of a thread necro, but has anyone fitted one of these, in black, to a Lapiz blue car (that has other black trim like prets, mirrors etc)? Interested to see if it sticks out like a sore thumb or whether it blends in nicely with the other black trimmings.

I just used the Method A 12.1V Yes option and it's working as expected for me. Now when i turn the car on I don't need to press the start/stop button to disable it, it works the other way (Press the button to turn it on). Much prefer that, I know it's only a button press but having it off by default is preferable to me.

Sorry to hear about this, real shame that there are so many scumbags out there looking to take what others have worked hard for.

Dynaudio for sure... DCC I'm leaning towards a no, reason being the standard 'Race' setting isn't overly hard in my opinion (on 19 Prets). I would assume non DCC cars would be similar in ride quality to the 'race' setting. Given the choice again i'd probably not spec it and save the cash. It's a nice to have, not essential imo. Depending on the colour you're going for i'd consider black mirrors as well. For example if you're speccing 19" black prets definitely get the black mirrors. Outside of that for the price i'd spec the rear camera as well.

Hi all, Had the R a couple of weeks and one of the first things I wanted to do was get it in for a ceramic coating for protection, picked it up today and it looks awesome but i've noticed 5/6 stone chips already, i've only done 200 miles. My detailer said it was one of the softest paints he's ever worked on .... My question is, is that common for these cars, or perhaps common with new cars full stop? Kinda feels ridiculous that the paint is THAT soft.... is there anything I can do outside of the ceramic coating for protection? I dread to think what it will look like in 6 months, hopefully the ceramic coating will reduce the vast majority of them! It's Lapiz by the way. Thanks Aaron

Spec your car on Drive the deal then go into a Dealer to see what they can do. I got my local dealer to match it.... Book price £37.5K'ish, I paid £31,450.

Had one fitted last week by AwesomeGTI, can't fault it. The app has had one hiccup so far where it's stopped running in the background so had to enter the pin manually but other than that it's worked as expected. The only thing i'll say is the range on the app/unit is crazy, it will stay authorised everywhere in my house (house is 3 floors) so be careful to disable the app when not in use otherwise the unit is obviously pointless.

30'ish from the long journeys i've done so far. For short journeys much lower, 10-15

No pops of any sort from mine, only done 200 miles mind

Hey all Im trying to use Carista to disable start/stop being on by default, I see there are two options: Method A - has a bunch of values like 12v Yes, 12.1v Yes etc Method B - Yes/No Method B doesn't work, it just says the car rejected the change and I'm not sure which setting to choose from Method A... any ideas please? Good news! Mine got to Grimsby on the Thursday, was with the dealer on the following Thursday (supposedly, I have a feeling was there earlier) so a week, but that included the bank holiday so hopefully yours should be a bit quicker than that.

Yeah I hear what you're saying, I'm getting mine in for ceramic coating a week Wednesday and taking the chance re: major faults! Pics as promised, the weather is masking the filthy dust filled exterior

Hey mate, the scratches weren't as bad as I originally thought and very light, the detailing will take them right out. They were so light I didn't even bother mentioning it to the dealer.

I also collected today, blown away by the tech in this, amazing car. It's filthy and getting dark so no pics, will take some tomorrow. (Will still be filthy mind).

Went to have a look yesterday and it still had all the delivery covers on, when the salesman took them off there are clear scratches on the roof.... didn't mention at the time as I was in a rush. I did ask them not to valet it though, as it'll be going in for a ceramic coating at a detailers. What would you guys do about the scratches? The detail should sort them out, but I'm a bit annoyed they're there in the first place. Having said that I'm not really giving them the chance to sort it by asking them not to clean it/valet it etc. Either way going back to pick up this afternoon, with it not being valeted etc they're letting me pick it up early. I was a bit subdued what with the poor communication, but definitely excited now it's finally here

Cheers mate, my main issue has been the communication.... it's been sadly lacking in quality and quantity. Finishing line is there at least. A month in Emden, thats not good... where is it getting shipped? North or South UK? Have VW said what the delay is? A couple of us were delayed by a week or so because of the weather.

Just chased the dealer, got a 'oh thats a coincidence it's just rolled up we were about to call you'. Either way glad it's finally at the dealership. Should be ready for collection early next week he said, but I'm going down to take a look at it today.
