  1. Pleased to see someone else go the all silver route. Look far smarter than the OEM diamond cut or boring black!
  2. Many thanks for your reply. Yes,you were correct in your assumptions on all counts! 👍 I have managed to source the relevant part from a written off 2019 Golf R in the UK.
  3. Would anyone know the OEM VW Part No for the above please? My drivers door lock is playing 'funny buggers'. It won't lock with remote, but it will with the key. It then won't open with the remote or the key. Having to then reach in from the rear door and open from inside. All the other doors are fine. 2019 UK RHD Golf R Estate.
  4. Just had these delivered. VW OEM parts from China. Took 3 weeks to get here and fit the 7.5R Estate perfectly. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265247093591
  5. My Indium Grey wagon with 19" Spielbergs in Gunmetal. I think it looks pretty smart.
  6. Very nice, I think I actually prefer the all silver finish to the diamond cut, and dare I say it, your summer wheels. Each to there own though.
  7. Personally, I'd go for a set of these in Gunmetal. Far nicer than black IMHO and the look subtle. https://cmwheels.com/?s=estoril&post_type=product&product_cat=0
  8. A few photos of my new 19" CMW gloss Gunmetal Grey Spielberg reps fitted yesterday. They look rather good on imho, and a bit less 'showy' than the diamond cut Spielbergs originally fitted, that have suffered badly in the salty Orkney air. ET45, so fill the arches a bit more, but subtly. The colour is almost an exact match with the bodywork. Also got a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 5's fitted replacing the original Conti's that lasted just over 15K miles. Was going to get Goodyear Asymmetric 5's, but seems there was a supply problem and would be. Mid April before they would arrive up here. Not too fussed as there's no racetrack roads up here!
  9. Strikes me you have the ideal scenario, a 33% salary increase, a new company car and a brand new Golf R all arriving at the same time. What's not to like! Presumably, you could afford the Golf payments on your current salary, so just keep it as a weekend/evening toy. I certainly would. Your no worse off.
  10. Well said and mirrors my thoughts exactly. It was always meant to be on the subtle side. The R32 was more of a 'hot hatch' albeit not that 'hot' compared with the current Golf R. As for one the comments left re 'young reprobates buying old MK7/7.5 Golf Rs and then driving them like absolute lunatics, often with illegal plates and tints', I'd go as far as saying that certain cars shouldn't be insurable for under 25's. The Golf R being one of them. Back in the 80's there were very few young drivers in newish hot hatches. They simply couldn't afford them or the insurance, which rocketed in the early 90's. It put me off buying an 18-month old Astra GTE 16V and I was mid-30's at the time!
  11. New 19" Spielbergs courtesy of CMWheels. Gloss Gunmetal Grey. Almost a perfect match against the Indium Grey paintwork. Replacing a 2 year old set of OEM Diamond Cut Spielbergs that are suffering badly from white worm. Now to get some tyres fitted. Goodyear F1's this time around. Will get the original set powder coated and keep as a winter set. Also need to find some 60mm centre caps as unfortunately the originals are 56mm. Recommendations welcome.
  12. It will sneak in under the £40K higher tax limit once you deduct the VED, and on the road charges. A bargain almost given it's got DCC, leather & electric tailgate as standard.
  13. I think the VZ3 is just the addition of leather seats & electric tailgate A bargain relatively speaking! Have to agree there! VZ2 Spec. DCC, 19" alloys & reversing camera as standard. 14. Interesting pricing relative to the Golf R 5-door never mind the forthcoming Estate which I'd guess will be circa £42500 without options: https://www.cupraofficial.co.uk/cars/cupra-range/cupra-leon-estate.html?
  15. I did it online this week. No problem if you have your registration document and certificate of entitlement to hand. Called LV straight after. No charge or admin fee.
  16. Not very IMHO. Looks awful TBH. Has it got any wheels fitted?? Each to their own, but silver or anthracite or whatever would look far better.
  17. I'm not convinced the rear end is the final version given the rear difuser is completely different from the hatch (no gloss black inserts) and the number plate is door mounted. No room for the R badge below the boot release (no bad thing TBH). It's interesting to compare the lines of all 3 wagons from VW, Seat & Skoda.
  18. I believe they call that 'sleeker' looking!
  19. Thanks for the feedback. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. More so given they are pricier. Will maybe hold out in the hope they reduce the price a bit more for the white ones. Like you, I prefer the OEM look.
  20. Osram LEDDMI 5G0 BK S LEDriving Dynamic LED Mirror Indicator-Black Edition Bit of a price drop on the black edition on Amazon just now: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RYT5ZL9/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&th=1 Might well invest in a set as it appears they are better than the much cheaper Chinese versions. Has anyone fitted these to a 7.5R?
  21. I think this closing quote sums up the Golf perfectly: But the new Golf R has the breadth of personality in its locker to be a grown-up’s run-around and yet… (unlike the overly polite BMW M135i and Audi S3) offer layers of handling panache to uncover when you’re in the mood to exploit its monumental cross-country pace. It just does everything. I do like the phrase 'grown-up's run-around'!
  22. Is that a plus or a minus re the all black wheels? I see CMWheels are quick off the mark with Estoril replica's! https://www.facebook.com/cmwheelsltd
  23. You might be right, however there are cars around in stock as has already been posted. Surprised they haven't been sold TBH. Here's another: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/new/202101127902745?
  24. This must be worth a couple of quid wasted just incase in lieu of the anticipated delays: https://www.botb.com/prizes/cars/volkswagen-golf-r/?showabout=true&utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Advert&utm_campaign=1233-Advert-W-Golf-R-New-Bafin&fbclid=IwAR1tArBDbMFPjEFeX4BdN9EovaewkuI3ZZB9z3fwbCM4ltzFdZXjk_57bgA
