  1. Hello everyone, After recent topics and discussions that I saw on the forum, I think it would be great to get a meet organised, booked and in the diary for 2019. With Christmas coming up, I'm sure a lot of you will be working and/or have ran out of annual leave. Now here comes the difficult part, where to hold it and when to do it. I know as a forum we have people from all over the UK, so I'm thinking of somewhere maybe Midlands area maybe Derby/Nottingham, accessible to motorway routes, giving you guys and girls the best routes without being massively far away. In terms of the meet itself, I'd be apt to have this on a weekend morning, so it doesn't take too much out of peoples day, and it's a lame excuse to grab some breakfast and to have a natter. So the general plan would be, to meet up at a Toby Carvery or the like, meet for say 9.30/10.00 am - have a natter prior to going in to getting some food, then back out after a hearty breakfast for another chat, then away we go. Who would be up for this? Obviously we have a bit of time before it, so it gives enough notice to clear diaries and the like. Answers on a postcard, dependent on the outcome, there will be updates.
  2. Admin, if this post isn't allowed, apologies and please delete I have noticed a few posts from owners in the Glasgow / other Scottish areas looking to meet. Was wondering who fancied a meet / run? I am proposing a meet and run up the "dukes pass" stop off for lunch and run elsewhere before breaking up. Anyone fancy it? Or propose another meet venue and idea? I'm certainly very flexible!! Initial date to give time to reply and sort days off work etc I thought would be SUNDAY 2nd OCTOBER 2016 That isn't actually that far away! Any thoughts or opinions, please post
  3. Thread with more information on Westside VW 2017 - 24 Sept 2017, Sunday. It is the show's 10th anniversary this year. We can use this space to discuss the meet and form plans and perhaps convoys? I attended last year and it was a pretty chilled event with some nice cars. All marques of VAG are welcome and there is a separate space for other makes which included some rare beasts from BMW, Mercedes etc. Mind you, the cricket ground was full by 1100hrs so it is a good idea to arrive early. Entry is £10 (no advance bookings, pay on gate) and gates open at 0900hrs. For an extra £5 you can also participate in their Show and Shine contest with prizes from sponsors. Website with more information and videos etc from past shows: http://westsidevw.co.uk/ Map and Location: http://westsidevw.co.uk/westside-treffen-2015-page/westside-treffen-directions-map/ *I am NOT affiliated with the organisers* - but I do know some other groups that plan on convoying from South London/Surrey side. 4. Morning All, After much chat we have decided to hold a meet towards the end of April, please find all details below. Date: Sunday 23rd April. Time: 11AM. Location: Foxton Locks, Gumley Road, Foxton, Market Harborough, LE16 7RA. Link here. If everyone heads towards the long stay car park then we should be out the way of the general public and shouldn't cause too much of a ruckus. There's also a pub which is down at the locks + fish & chips for anyone that is interested. VRS Northampton also have a dyno-day on the Sunday that will be running to about 3PM so if anyone wants to head down to that after then the option is there. Full details of the event here. Added some screenshots below so everyone knows where to aim for. If anyone has any further requests/ideas then by all means put them forward. Long stay car park is to the right of the picture above.
  5. Hello all, Was just looking at motorsport events to go to this summer and saw they are doing a German car festival at Brands Hatch. It includes various racing on track and static displays. I have attached the link below. Be good to get a load of cars together although I am newish to the forum and have no idea how to organise something like this! If you get a club display individual tickets are £20 for the weekend instead of £35. It also says you have a chance to take part in the Sunday track parade which would be good! Kind regards, http://www.deutschefest.co.uk/
