  1. Developed this noise after getting an apr Downpipe and custom miltec exhaust fitted. Made it both on stage 1 and stage 2+ tune. Had people tell me it’s just the wastegate but figured I’d ask other R owners. Thoughts?

  3. Hello everyone, After recent topics and discussions that I saw on the forum, I think it would be great to get a meet organised, booked and in the diary for 2019. With Christmas coming up, I'm sure a lot of you will be working and/or have ran out of annual leave. Now here comes the difficult part, where to hold it and when to do it. I know as a forum we have people from all over the UK, so I'm thinking of somewhere maybe Midlands area maybe Derby/Nottingham, accessible to motorway routes, giving you guys and girls the best routes without being massively far away. In terms of the meet itself, I'd be apt to have this on a weekend morning, so it doesn't take too much out of peoples day, and it's a lame excuse to grab some breakfast and to have a natter. So the general plan would be, to meet up at a Toby Carvery or the like, meet for say 9.30/10.00 am - have a natter prior to going in to getting some food, then back out after a hearty breakfast for another chat, then away we go. Who would be up for this? Obviously we have a bit of time before it, so it gives enough notice to clear diaries and the like. Answers on a postcard, dependent on the outcome, there will be updates.
  4. Admin, if this post isn't allowed, apologies and please delete I have noticed a few posts from owners in the Glasgow / other Scottish areas looking to meet. Was wondering who fancied a meet / run? I am proposing a meet and run up the "dukes pass" stop off for lunch and run elsewhere before breaking up. Anyone fancy it? Or propose another meet venue and idea? I'm certainly very flexible!! Initial date to give time to reply and sort days off work etc I thought would be SUNDAY 2nd OCTOBER 2016 That isn't actually that far away! Any thoughts or opinions, please post

Hello all, I'm seeking for advice, I have vw golf mk6 high line 1.4 super charge 160 HP, I have problem in the cylinder 3, the Pressure in cylinder 3 is 90 BSI. what is the best to do ?? 1- change the hole engine with a used engine. 2- or prepare the engine on the car, changing the 4 pistons and the rings and every thing need to change. please if any one had the same problem before , tell me his story and what is the best. thank you.
  6. Hi All, Im really hoping someone can help. Yesterday i bought a 2010 VW GOLF R MK 6 AUTO DSG. When going for a test drive and inspecting the car it all seemed fine. My first issue came when i dropped my friend off that came with me. As i was leaving his driveway, i went to put it in reverse and at that point it gave me an error with an exclamation mark saying gearbox was overheated. I turned the car off and then started it again and seemed fine. I reversed out and went home. At some stage i got a solid engine light appear on my dash. Today, i dropped my mum off somewhere and when putting it in reverse, it wouldnt select the gear and let me reverse, nor would it let me select drive either. I restarted the car and that seemed to then let me reverse and select my gears. At this point the engine light was still showing. I took the car to my mechanic to do a check of the car as i just got it and to show this issue i was having. As i was driving to my mechanic, about 15 hours after the initial light appeared, the light went away by itself. He ran the OBD scans throughout the whole car and only found one code - "P2711 - Unexpected / Implausible Mechanical Gear Disengagement", which was cleared because he checked the DSG and it seemed fine as the drive is smooth and the oil was good. We also discovered it could be from aggressive driving which i dont believe i was doing as i have been taking it easy. When i got home, i went to the gym awhile later, as i was trying to reverse out of my driveway, the same issue occurred where it wouldnt select reverse or any other gear so i had to restart the car to get it to select reverse and the light is appearing again. Im really not sure what is happening at this point and starting to think this may be a gearbox issue after all. Is anyone able to shed some light on this? Kindest Regards, Liborio - Sydney

  9. New owner and new vwroc member. Two weeks ago I purchased a red 2013 with just under 40K miles and a manual transmission. I am the third owner (first owner owned to 10K). I have a few questions that I hope can be answered: Replacement Remote Key Fob: Previous owner only had one key fob. What is the best source for extra remotes? Should I *really* go to the dealer for the part/cut/programming. They want $155 +75 programming. Obviously looking for a cheaper, trouble-free option. If eBay, what do I need to look for? Bluetooth Audio: I've had three years' experience with Bluetooth audio and my 6Plus iPhone in my CLA 250. The behavior of the R's Bluetooth is a little different. Each time I start the car (and the radio is turned on) the Bluetooth automatically kicks in and begins to play my iPhone music even if I haven't told it to. What is annoying is that I usually have my FM radio on and the Bluetooth connects, not once, but twice. Each time I have to select the FM radio button to return back to the radio station. The second problem is that whenever a text is received or if I'm using the iPhone's navigation, it will interrupt the radio but never return back to the radio. It stays in Bluetooth mode unless I select the FM radio button again. Are the first and second behaviors standard or are these problems? Is there any travel info as a part of the instrument cluster? I don't see it in the owner's manual, but I'm surprised that it's not standard. My 1987 Jetta GLI had time driven, distance driven (2 hour reset and long-term), and I believe it also had Distance to Empty and Average MPG, but I could be mistaken about those last two. Is there really no computer trip info? What does the Port Connector actually do? I had one in my CLA 250 but never used it because it had a 30-pin connector and so does this one. I have a 30-pin to Lightning connector but it doesn't work. What will work? My 12 volt outlet does not work and it doesn't appear to be the fuse (#41 slot?). Further investigation is needed but hoping that temporarily moving to the Port Connector may work to connect and charge? Is there an online resource to a VW brochure or anything officially listing the options available? I believe the only major option it doesn't have is the sunroof/nav system, but I would like to see a VW brochure where I can view the available options for this model year. If you have a brochure and can scan to PDF for me, that would be great or point me to an online resource. Thanks in advance!   11. Hi Everyone, So this my 2010 R.. I traded in my 1.2 70bhp Polo and decided on this car due to the price and great spec, but most importantly the difference in car ... Spec was as follows: 3dr in Pearlescent Black 11,500 miles 19" Talladega wheels Parking sensors Sunroof Black heated Vienna Leather ACC RN510 radio Thats all off the top of my head aha. Anyway here is a picture after the journey home and a quick wash . Ok so now to the mods I have planned, and what is currently done. Planned: Stage 2 Air Ride Wheels Genuine Heated MK6 R Recaro Wingbacks DONE Custom Interior Upgrade the speakers/Headunit Smooth the front bumper Custom rear bumper Maybe a full respray Whats done so far: Custom mapped Stage 1 42 Draft designs Downpipe and full sports catback system (thanks to sus400) Seats changed to the Recaro Wingbacks Various Carbon Skinned trims H&R sport springs NOT FITTED YET Some more pictures I'll try and put them in order of what was done. Sorry for the poor quality Iphone pics! Thats all I have right now I'll get some better pictures of the interior up as soon as I can, hopefully with some more progress as well!

  13. A sweet and relatively rare 2012 red MK6R in for a Statller health check and sharpening up. Before and after dyno plots show just how a little diagnostics and a few new parts can do wonders for your bhp. GIAC stage 1 calibration is the same before and after and the graph shows before and after runs done on the same dyno on the same day. A few things fixed makes a massive difference, so if you believe your R is down slightly from where you think it should be get it in to us for a health check and diagnostic. I guess this means that he was happy with the results......mmmm.
