samcalcutt
Is it my car or do all manuals hesitate and feel like there "bogging" when you change gear at speed as in changing fast to get the bet 0-60 times or what ever driving normally you wouldn't be able to tell it's never done it before in any of my other cars.. not sure if it's a torque limiter kind of thing to save the clutch? Either way it's crap! Having a play with my mates dsg today and I would quiet happily sit with him if the gear changes was fine!
lyono13
Mine struggled with 1st - 2nd when new. Post 2000 miles it has started to free itself up and is much more enjoyable to drive and have fun with.
monkeyhanger
No hesitation on mine in any gear but it does not want to do more than 6500 revs.
samcalcutt
Not sure why then.. mine defiantly hesitates not at the time but most of the time, it just doesn't want to give me that perfect gear change when I need it
R400
It is 20th century tech (manual gearbox) struggling to cope with 21st century tech (small but fast engine). Sell it and get a modern DSG.

As you say its some kind of clutch protection and is bloody annoying. Not many people realise its their because they don't drive it that hard. Really frustrates me sometimes! It slows you down so much! Are you mapped or box? Or standard? At least it's just not my car then

Extra revs help but its speed of gear change that does it

R400
A good stage1 map is about 5-10% faster than a box.

Sell it and get a modern DSG. *YAWN* Mine is manual and I don't have any issues with it what so ever. Not trying to start a manual vs dsg debate again, just saying my manual is great and works exactly as it should and I'm perfectly happy with it. I suggest OP gets his checked.
