Pigpen
So shopping around for GAP quotes today lady tells me £10k isn't enough over 3 years I neec £20k. As great as GAP is the main reason for doing it is to make sure I'm never in negative equity. Accepting some depreciation after 3 years do I really need £10k? Paying £33k for the car so yes in 3 yrs it will likely be worth around £16k but the finance will be paid by then. Is it worth going to £15k or £20k? What are others looking to insure for value wise? Bit confused having never done it before have been quoted £128 for £15k over 3 years which seems ok at just under £1 per week.

That should be more than enough for anyone on an R. Got to remember that GAP insurance pays the difference between your insurance pay out, and whatever is left on the finance. I can't envisage a scenario whereby the insurance payout would be more than £10k under what you owe on it. Unless you got a reallllllllly w*nk deal on the finance

Ah ok, I never bother with return to invoice but if you get a cheap deal it's probably worth doing. I just cover myself to make sure I'm never at risk of being in neg equity. Price you've been quoted sounds good though Pigpen

Just sorting this my self, ALA seem the most reasonable at £125, 15k cover and covers all remaining payments. 2 year cover though for me.

Don't do it though! Compare with gap insurance 123 and then ring ALA they will beat the other one by 20% - see the note on their website
Bodsta
Just a little heads up for anyone waiting any longer than they were quoted originally, it's worth having a little moan to the dealership as I've just got 2 years servicing free as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience. Every little helps I suppose. leonmac and Pigpen
