Noooo not me, my mate at work.

Supposedly getting it April '14, been told he can't spec it up yet as they don't know what's going to be standard and what will be extras. :undecided:

Have they actually accepted a deposit at this stage?

I doubt it - it's not yet been 'launched' in the UK. Mid November, the R will likely be open to order with VW confirming Spec and Options but Dealers have yet to have confirmation on allocation too. :afro:

All I can say is what he told me that he'd been to his local stealer and ordered one, he's chopping his mint Ed35 in for it.

Dealers will likely get two, maybe three R's to 'order' at launch - I do not doubt that he's "bought" his way into that queue and on that basis, I'm not 'having a go' DurhamLad !! I suspect all will become clear in the next few weeks !

Don't doubt he has ,just saying he has to go do it all again with spec and prices and P/Ex ,

I suppose he has assured he can have one of his dealers Allocation though :afro:

Yep that's all plausible chaps. Normal form. We went through this before when the 6R came out. The dealer will take a deposit and give you first dibs on their allocation. As soon as they get an allocation you can spec what you want. Depending on what you order and factory "supply" issues related to the kit you want in it, you'll get and unconfirmed build week about a month later. Then at some point you'll get a confirmed build week....

Then you wait and wait, and then wait some more and have sleepless nights and dreams that it sinks on the boat...etc etc. It's torture...

I guess if you go this route Danno, that unless you've got previous (damn good!!!) custom with the dealership your going to be paying top whack!?

If you want one of the first, and those sort of people exist (like me), you pay the asking price!

Then hats off to you if you can afford to do that :afro:

Though I must admit that I am seriously in love with the interior on the 7R and all the other improvements are just the icing on the cake :cheesy:

Yeah I know Chubby, I want one

PS mines a lease car on the company, so it's more about residuals, book value, options, annual mileage and emissions that make the price difference to me personally.

Looking good so far though. Lower emissions, and looks like similar pricing structure. :afro:

Problem is lease companies really sting you for options. You basically pay for them outright over the period. So if I add £2k options they divide that by say 3 years and say you owe an extra x per month. They place no value on them as they rarely get their money back on them when they sell it at the end of the term

The salesman at Inchcape Shrewsbury I bought my R and Mrs Soul's Polo Gti from called me as soon as the 7R was announced and sent me the press release, spec etc by email. We now have an agreement that he'll call again as soon as the order books open. He said he couldn't take a deposit until then as it was company policy not to..

Naturally I'll let you lot know when I get the call :cheesy:

I hope by then I might have been able to settle on a colour :undecided:
