Called my local VW dealer up about coding a battery...... £180!! Just for the coding! Called my friendly service guy up, (Reuben at Tuning Werkes, who is a bit of a drive away from me) and he'll do it while I wait for the cost of a beer! Worth the drive over there I think!

Hey! I was hoping for some advice! I've got a warning about oil pressure. This is the error described by obd eleven: P164D00 - Reduced oil pressure switch Malfunction Intermittent is it safe to drive my car? Even a few miles either back to a garage or to VW. The whole story is pretty long, I'll try and keep it short! I took my car to a mechanic to investigate coolant leak. Turned out it was a broken water pump. He had the car all week, various tales of parts not turning up etc. They mentioned an oil pressure switch they needed to replace too but they thought it was something they had done so wouldn't charge me for it. When I picked the car up, he said that the adaptive cruise control needed re calibrating and they couldn't do it. I drove the car home, 5 miles, about 15 to 18 mins journey. Just before I got there the oil pressure warning came up. I rang the mechanic and he waffled on about what sounded like a load of bs to me. He said he thought the oil pressure sensor and the cruise control was a related problem as the errors come up at the same time. What do u think? Im not sure about taking it back there as I now think they have no idea what they are doing and cannot fix my car. Also, would they have needed to dismantle quite a bit of the engine to get to the water pump?

looks good Richard! Seems to be a great solution without losing any boot space! (although that corner is where I keep my footpump 😒)

Ah thanks I will give that a try instead of DiscoverCare.

On the discover care I'm not sure what to select, Gen 1 or Gen 2? My car is a 64 plate so I assume it is Gen 1? (is Gen 2 the new facelift car version?) Also the dates it offers seem to be "up to and including 2012" and "from 2015 onwards". seems like it doesn't mention 2013 and 2014!!

Tutorial: Clutch Delay Valve Removal. (Manual Cars)
arthur_mac replied to AdDaMan's topic in Guides and How To's
I didn't want to DIY it so got it done by a mechanic who was doing some other work on my car and its makes such a difference. Much smoother gear change between 1 and 2!- 37 replies

Ah that is a shame but hopefully it works! My journey today was uninterrupted, but I did have a very clear run. Most of my signal interruptions came when I was stationary at lights! So hopefully they have fixed it with firmware.

I've got the issue of DAB interference. Mine was mounted to the glass. I was awaiting their installer to come back and fix the issue but just got a call from Blackvue with a fix. They have just released a new firmware upgrade which changed the frequency of the signal between front and rear cameras which should fix it! I've done this and will report back! here is the link if you want to try it: https://www.blackvue.com/downloads/

Thanks for the advice guys. I've been ok with Clay before so I am comfortable trying that again! I have some Dodo juice supernatural tar and glue remover which I will give a go too and thanks for the recommendation on the Iron cleanse. But is claying trying to achieve the same thing as the tar and iron removers do? Or should I do all three to do a thorough job?

Hey! I've got a 2 year old Lapiz R which I had Crystal Serum applied to when it was new. I have applied C2 v3 to it last year and that added some shine back to it but how should I prepare it for this summer? With my old car it would just clay bar it and wax it but can I do that to the Crystal Serum? I assume so as it is very strong stuff or are there any other options for me?

I really enjoyed it. Preferred it to Grand Tour of which I think I watched 4 episodes and then gave up!

I'm a maybe. My girlfriend is going to Italy for a week on the Sunday afternoon and she wants to "spend some time together". Seems a little inconsiderate! Will this be a mini road trip? -
I've set mine to 75% as I thought 100% was too bright and the drl's lost definition at night.

My guess is the dealer wrote it up to VW head office that it was a problem with the flywheel as that maybe isn't a "wear and tear" item so they can replace both the clutch and flywheel under warranty. Maybe just keeping me sweet as I purchased the car outright. Might be different on a lease car, depends on your relationship with the dealer. (I said the dealer covered it, obviously they didn't cover it themselves in a money sense but sorted it for me through the warranty claim!)

The dealer covered sorted my replacement of flywheel and clutch with a warranty claim. They said it was an issue with the flywheel.

I'm keeping an eye on this. Will hopefully be able to come! -
Nah, but somewhere else on here it was mentioned that the dealers have a special tool for removing it and it takes about 30 seconds! I just haven't got around to asking them to do it!

ah ok. If you were hanging around at the meeting point for a while I would have been there and then gone home when the road trip commenced as I've got plans late morning. Maybe next time. -
What non-performance enhancing mods have you done to your R 2?

I'm just getting a vinyl wrapping guy to do it for me along with black on the chrome strips on the front. Sent from my STV100-4 using Tapatalk -
