  1. Your car looks really smart m8. Like that a lot.
  2. I'm not sure of the exact coding but have enabled this in my Golf 2016 R Estate (Delivered April 16) it will now read the traffic signs and show a different speed on the dash MFD as opposed to the one built into the Sat Nav if that is what it sees, e.g. roadwork speed limits. You do have to have the front facing camera which is mounted up by the rear view mirror facing forward. Looks like you do so you should be able to code it.

On my other car, I promise the Golf is just the same... :-) well, nearly!! This one has a Xpel Ultimate Paint Protection Film applied with a top coat of G-tech something or other..... The easiest car I have ever had the pleasure of cleaning, it's just not worth the cost on the Golf.
  4. Not on a black one I'm afraid but look great on my white R. Put them on within a week of getting the car along with the extended paddle shifters and a DTuk box.
  5. For all you MPG test people...here is 10 months of fuel costs on my R DSG Estate. Mostly fill up with normal Tesco Unleaded with the odd splash of Momentum. I have had the DTuk FSR+ Box in it since May last year too weather that makes any difference, however now I have taken the box off I do notice that it's not there from a performance point of view. I will now run the car for the next 10 months without it as the car will be driven by someone else and she doesn't want it in. (Blatant advert if anyone wants it send me a PM...) These are tank to tank figures with the cars mpg logged at the end but not averaged out.
  6. Update, service now completed and the invoice cost was £99. (No payment from me as I had paid for the first two on ordering the car) If the next one is more than £50 then I've saved some by getting the option. Car was cleaned by VW and they did a pretty rubbish job but that was expected, I will now have to give it a proper clean. No issues from the dealer except a bizarre mileage entry in the service book that was 9483. The actual mileage is 9342 so no resemblance at all even jumbling the numbers around so not sure how they ended up with this number. It's close enough so not too bothered. Service department sent me a video showing any issues of which there weren't any so that was pretty pointless but I suppose it shows they're trying. The most annoying thing was my visit to the dealership. I went in to pick up the car and was having a look at the new Tiguan, my wife's current Tiguan is going back in April and she wants another. So I am looking at a nicely specced model and the sales manager comes over asking if I need any help, I tell him I'd like to look at the car next to me, he then says he'll get the keys and open it up. 10 minutes off waiting and another salesman asked the same question, I tell him I'm being looked after and he says he will get me into the car straight away as the manager would probably ask one of them to do it anyway. Another 7 or 8 mins and after two or three sales guys try to get the car opened it turns out it's sold and being collected "in the next 15 mins" ....... the car isn't even in the collection bay and has a price of options list next to it, I said no problem I'll leave it after wasting 15-20 mins whilst they faff around and waiting for the original sales manager. I then go to the service desk and get my keys where upon the sales manager returns, looks at me in passing and carries on, this is after he said he'd find the car keys. They really don't want to sell me a car, thank goodness for carwow is all I can say. I walk back through the sales floor and on my way out another salesman calls out whilst at his desk, I was prepared to just go on with out a word but.... "can I help you with anything?" my reply was.... If your sales manger can't be bothered to show me a car and keeps a potential customer hanging around for 20 mins I feel sorry for you guys having to take any kind of sales pressure targets from him, and your dealership has just lost a potential £35k sale of a car. See ya. There you go thought I'd get that off my chest. Lol....
  7. I paid the £150 for the first 2 services too. After reading this thread I'm sort of concerned how bad these dealers are!!! Anyway not had any issues in the past and booked in for this Thursday for the first one at 9500 miles / 9 months. Seems a tad too soon but the service warning is on saying due now. I've taken off the DTuk box and will send it in as is and hopefully will get a nicely cleaned and serviced car back. However due to this thread I'll be a lot more vigilant when dropping it off and collecting [emoji106][emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Sunday morning clean. The car is still great to look at and own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks rosshutchie. I think they were £130 off eBay. The seller was a VW parts dept from a dealer in Liverpool. Just keep your eye out as they come on from time to time when a dealer needs to shift old stock or can't sell them for the ridiculous £200. Or they come off a demo car and get sold as used. I'm pretty sure that's what I got. If you think about it they keep the demos for 3 months so take Sept as month 1 due to new reg then November should be good to maybe find one or two.....[emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Try filming through it with your phone camera. See how it looks, I'd be surprised if it makes much difference.
  11. Not so sure about the alloys m8....but the car in this pic really looks very shiney. I'm sure Ms Booth11 would approve...
  12. I too got mine off ebay for a good discount, and have to agree that they are surprisingly very good.
  13. A quick update now after 6 months and 6000 miles. Car is still running very well and showing an improvement in the mpg. I have had the odd glitch here and there with Discover Pro, but a quick reboot soon sorts that out. I have to hold myself back from using it too much as the mileage is creeping up a little too fast for me but apart from that the car is everything and more than I'd hoped for. Still looks great and cleans up well too, no rattles or anything. I have had the FSR+ box running on it quite happily for the last 4500 miles and just recently took it off to see if I would notice the difference as I'm looking at a map update. Was really surprised at how much I miss it, as standard it just seems a little deflated but put the box back on and it really flies. Bonus is there didn't seem to be any difference in fuel consumption with it on or off. So that will go up for sale soon when I get a re-map sorted. Really, really do love the ST2 paddle shifters which were put on at the dealers forecourt so never used it with the original stubby things. The lane assist feature is causing a problem in that I get into a normal car and miss that too especially on long motorway/dual carriageway drags. Happy to say I get very positive comments on the fact it's an estate R and how nice the white looks. All in all it is a great work horse and daily driver so for all you people looking /waiting for one its just such a great all round car. I did spec quite a few options on the car from new and if I had to I would have them all on again, I use everything and notice it when I do use them. Sunroof, dynamic lighting thingy, lane assist, dyn audio sounds great, front windscreen heater, rear camera, the car blinds work very well in hiding the interior but not making it too dark inside. Love the race cloth grey interior as its a very nice alcantara seat and glad I never went for the leather. I could go on but just wanted to say it's still a great car. Probably to be replaced when my Tesla Model 3 arrives. But who knows when that will be..... Cheers all. Mark.
  14. Couldn't resist so placed a small order. Always good to get a discount and looking forward to putting the items to good use. Cheers Mark
