  1. Rather than buying new alloys, just powdercoating the standard 18's black might do the trick.
  2. Not sure due to the black wheels I have on my car you can see the ride height but I highly recommend Racingline springs. Not a great deal of difference to standard when it comes to comfort but a very nice stance.

Welcome to VWROC, car is looking good - can't wait to see the build in the near future.

Welcome to VWROC, where in Central Scotland are you?
  5. Good to hear you got the R back, was a particularly tough one to read at the beginning.
  6. Yeah the chrome is a nice change on VWROC but only had a few days and its already de-chromed, TRC Splitter, Maxton Spoiler on and Diffuser/Carbon Mirrors/VWR springs on the way. Expensive habit we all have.
  7. Looking good so far, in fact so much so I bought a white R this week cause of this thread albeit a DSG. 😆😅
  8. Looking forward to seeing the progress on this, definitely not helping the want I have for another R! Is that Dumbarton Costa Coffee on the original post? May or may not recognise the location of my old LB below ..
  9. Yeah fairly easy with 2 people i've used superglue to prop up the 3x fins as the 3m tape didn't seem adequate.
  10. Rear Diffuser Fitted Friday. 😎
  11. Guilty as charged. @Lew What colour/spec R you drive? I see quite a few others due to location.
  12. A little last minute, as the meet is tomorrow morning! However I thought I would post this up in case anyone hasn't seen advertised on Facebook. Having been to a few TT meets, it's definitely worth a look - from Mclaren's, Ferrari's, old American muscle cars and everything in between. I believe Shmee150 (Youtuber) will also be in attendance tomorrow with an Aston Martin GT8. Details: Location: SECC Glasgow, Car Park 5 ( Postcode: G3 8YW) Time: 9.30am Hope to see a few fellow R owners. 👍
  13. Always wanted to do something like this but just cant bear to take my R on the circuit just in case! Might however book up a trip to the SPA F1 Grand Prix next month, anyone been before?
  14. Nice one, welcome to the forum!
  15. Check out "Golf R Scotland" if you're not already added on Facebook, few meets set up there in the past. One for early August planned for Glencoe/Skyfall film location. 👍
  16. Sun was out today for a change thought i'd take a few snaps to show those that may be thinking about purchasing a splitter the clearance and general look. Definitely looks more OEM than the Maxton Design in my opinion having had both on the car:
  17. Thanks, definitely agree with you there from certain angles it looks ok but on the first picture it doesn't really help. If i'm honest I got a local garage to fit as it was easier for them with a ramp, but if you have the resources it doesn't look too difficult. It's very easily flexed, which I don't know if that could be a problem if I ever run into any problems. in saying that still feels a quality product for the £100 price tag. However as you can see from the image below to give you an idea of the height from the ground the splitter is level with the current mud guard fitted to the R.
  18. Apologies about the dirty car but here is how the front splitter looks on Lapiz Blue
