I guess thats normal and I'm being an impatient git ? I was told that a build week is actually two. This was backed up when I got my text at the end of the second week. But just chill your boots. It won't come any faster by fixating on it. It has been a real eye opener watching all the posts from people following the updates of their build process in minute detail. But yes lots of people (including me) seem to go a bit crazy waiting so long for these. Its bound to lead to disapointment as the expectation grows. Its only a car! When I asked why the delay in confirmation the lady I spoke with said there's been a shortage of parts for the R (as usual due to high demand ). She didn't know what part it was. You'd think that by the 7th generation of the golf the geniuses at VW HQ would've realized that the golf brand, whatever the derivative, will always be a runaway success... and that they'll always need lots and lots of parts... particularly the "go faster bits." I was told to 'hope' it gets confirmed in the next few days, but obvs they can't promise anything. At least it hasn't already been postponed until 2015..... I'm quoted B/W 51 too by VWCS but doubting it will make it into production this side of New Year after reading what others are going through. Still no confirmation of b/w 51 either. BW51 and also awaiting confirmation. another BW51 here and still no confirmation. i've emailed the supplying dealer 10 days ago about a courtesy car but still not had a reply back from them. Threaten to cancel, they'll soon have their tail between their legs! My salesman is equally useless, promised me he'd get back to me on Wednesday afternoon, still not heard a thing. Its in such high demand that cancelled orders just get snapped up by some other punter. I threatened to cancel when my BW kept getting pushed back (as I suspected the dealer was playing fast and loose with my order allocation). He just apologized for the delays and said there was nothing he could do. Having said that my unconfirmed BW hasn't budged since my threat. So who knows... ? They’ll keep the order going to incorporate it into unregistered group stock and when it arrives someone who doesn’t want to wait 5 months will pay full post-Oct RRP or close to it, and they’ll have paid pre-october prices for the order - *kerching!* At the end of the day the dealership is pretty helpless, if there are parts shortages then there’s nowt the dealership can do about it and there’s only so much chasing they can do in a week before they get the same answer. The dealership wants to sell you that car you’re so desperately waiting for. They want paying and that p/x you agreed a fixed price on is depreciating with every month. All chasing them does is give you lots of different unconfirmed BW (ie nothing concrete) and a mix of emotions as you think your car will completed faster / slower than the last unconfirmed BW update you got... Unless you've been waiting since July time, I would just sit back and wait for the updates to come through as chasing them wont help at all IMO - if you ordered in July and still haven't got a BW I would be somewhat irritated however Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
