yeah I am leasing mate. however, it has already been assigned a 64 plate! once a car has been registered, is that it? or can it be re-registered with a 15 plate?

by the way it's going, I'll receive a 64 literally a week before the 15 comes out and that's if I am lucky. that is really out of order - i agreed to a 64 so that i could get it early, and intial signs were i'd get it at start of Feb. but since its been sitting at docks for not far off a month, it has not happened. I cannot believe it's taken over 4 weeks now, after having finished production on 14th Jan, and still isn't with me!

I think once it has been registered, that is it :(  Otherwise you wouldnt see the pre registered cars being reduced when the new plates come out.

Why didnt you want the extra month?  Complications with selling previous car etc.?

I originally expected my car to be at the dealer and ready by 9th Feb at latest - and since it is a lease onto which I will be putting my personal plate anyway, I wasn't too bothered about having a 15 - I'd rather have had it 3.5 weeks earlier and put my personal plate straight on it

however!!! VW's pissing around means I'm receiving the car way later than was estimated, which has really, really annoyed me and made it almost pointless to have registered it early

at least they've shot themselves in the foot and have now gotta sell a 64 rather than a 15 at the end of the lease haha!

when I complained via a pretty detailed email, the response I got was 'these things take time'! I did also mention in that email about Fords' 4 - 6 week complete turnover being the same as VW's delivery alone... however they just ignored that, like competitors don't matter lol

VW's terrible service strikes again :undecided:

My only previous experience of brand new cars have been with BMW. 3 factory orders, all built in Germany and shipped to the UK and all 3 combined have taken almost half the time to build and deliver than this single VW.

I expected a long wait when i ordered but I did not expect further delays and the fact they just don't seem to give a shit. This will be my first and last new VW unless they dramatically improve their production process.

this exactly! I signed up for a long wait, but didn't expect them to further take the mickey!

Just got this email from my dealer: 'Just a note to say your Golf R is currently on the line being built and

will pop out the other end at week end'.

Labour pains started yesterday. Hopefully it will be a seamless natural birth.

Or it could sit at the docks for two weeks like mine did which is a very painful labour....!
