How long can it be "with the factory" waiting for a bw confirmation? I ordered mine a month ago - but its still on stage 2. Im expecting maybe a September delivery?

Your build week won't be confirmed until approx. 4 weeks before build, you may be able to get an unconfirmed build date from your dealer.

Once you get past stage 3 things start to move quicker but for now just sit back and relax.....or drive yourself mad looking at the tracker everyday with hope!!

Car PDI'd today and ready to pick up tomorrow due to me requesting them not to wash it.

However I only booked thursday off work, as i didnt expect it so soon! so I will have to wait until then.

BW10.

10 days from arriving at Emden to arriving at dealer. Pretty awesome.

Have I won the BW10 race?

My dealership have agreed not to wash it but I'm worried that I won't be able to see any damage beneath the glue and dirt.  Alternatively they have offered to use a Lamb's Wool Mitt if I borrow them one.  What do people suggest?

Expected my BW16 confirmation to hit the tracker this morning......And it didn't. Phoned up VW UK and my car is currently estimated BW17. Cue snotty email to VW UK asking why my BW4 order is now at BW17, and if my Sept 24th order is no more, what happened to it. Who binned my order and started a new on on Dec 4th when I wanted to add Pretorias - VW UK or the dealership? With the back end of May looking more likely, i'll have waited 8 months for my R.

Hopefully i'll get some answers within 3 working days....and maybe a goodwill gesture.

I think actually taking delivery should be the criteria. Until I move the goal posts and factor in the handicap of another boat journey.

Aslong as there are no dings in the paintwork then i'm going to take it. At the end of the day even if there alre swirls from the factory or blemishes then they would only be made worse by the dealership monkeys if they got their hands on it.

Also regarding lending them a mitt... No. The wash procedure is more important than the tool for doing the job.

If they drop a lamswool and continue to use it, its still going to mess things up, similarily if they do the bottom half with the same mitt as the top. They might also do the wheels with it first and then do the bodywork.

Or they dont wring out the mitt panel by panel as all you are doing is still spreading all the crap along the paintwork, just with a fancier "sponge"

Or the valeters might get offended thinking you know best.. and either do a crap job on purpose or just sabotage it.

If you are that worried then I suggest going in and doing it yourself under supervision to prove you haven't caused damage.
