Detailing bargains and discounts

Not sure if there is a thread like already but thought it would be good to set up a page dedicated to bargains in the detailing world. Not necessarily what you've bought, but what you've seen that might help others...

First one from me, anyone looking for a cheap alternative to a kracher pressure washer then VAX are offering insane offers on these at the minute. Also the same on their Hoover range... Their entry level pressure washer is priced at just £32, down from £70.

Next one has been doing the rounds on detailing world but at £69 has to be a great stater point for anyone wanting to get into polishing... It's currently out of stock online but they reckon more in next week after talking to chat. Also, quite a few local stores are stocking it, so worth checking those out as well.

A couple of bargains I keep using again and again are :

1.  Costco Turtle Wax 25 litres - around £16 - works well with a foam lance too.

and

2. Costco MF Cloths - around £17 - a pack of 36 quality MF cloths.

yeah I've seen that one. Wonder how the build quality of these cheap ones compares with the more expensive ones?

There's quite a few people on detailing g world bought the one I linked but as yet don't think anyone has posted a review. I'll keep an eye out for any reviews and post up of/when I see one.

I'm also a big fan of Sonax BSD which you can get for about £6 delivered using coupon MARCHMAD.

:afro:

I know someone on another forum is considering that DA.  I've had a look on DW for a review but seen none so far. Like you, will keep eyes peeled.  I'm not in the market for one having just bought a DAS-6 Pro Plus but a review would be beneficial to others considering it.

The BSD price is great - I bought some a few weeks back from ecp for my sealant test.

Btw, great thread.  :afro:

Anyone know if Vax pressure washers are any good?

There's a decent looking one for £59 down from £250

I asked the same question over at DW but got no response. Probably best thing to do is compare spec to the karcher and go from there. There's an even cheaper one for about £35 iirc.

Thanks Jono, I wouldn't know what half the specs mean or whether they are good or not, never owned a PW before and don't know anything about them.

For cleaning a car and using a foam Lance, would the £35 unit be good enough do you reckon?

I honestly have no idea.

The higher the flow rate and bar, the more powerful the pressure washer.

For cleaning a car you don't really need a very powerful pressure washer IMHO ... around 130 bar will be fine :afro:

The 1700w one for £32.99 (130 bar) would be OK for doing a car.  It gets good reviews too I see (4.5/5)

VAX seem to be a known brand for pressure washers too,  and 3rd party foam lances are available :

If you intend to clean a patio as well ... 140 bar is probably better, and get one with a patio attachment to keep things clean !

Bit more expensive but a great price at the moment for a Karcher K2 Compact at Amazon.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B009QX8AOA/ref=mp_s_a_1_1/277-7792329-4869869?qid=1457708746&sr=8-1π=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=karcher+k2

This is the exact one I use just for car duty.  Think it's 110bar but perfectly powerful enough for the job.
