Lemar
Got this today
MC71
I had that one....could be a multitude of things causing it though.....Needs scanning with VCDS or pop along to the dealers for a scan. Mine was a dodgy switch causing problems.
bodas73
Stop start does not kick in everytime it seems, think there has to be sufficient battery charge, I notice this on starting journeys if the car has sat for a couple of days. TimSlim
Lots of things will prevent start-stop from kicking in, but I don't believe they would give 'stop-start error' message, instead an 'unavailable' message. Agree with MC71, needs checking. Had something similar on my 7R, fault traced to faulty pressure sensor.
dj219957
I got this today at 07.50 also!? Switched off and switched back on and it was fine.
MassMassa
For what it's worth when I mentioned this error to VW I was told there's an update for the parking handbrake and it should fix it. That's coming from a dealership so take with a pinch of salt perhaps!
PraggersK
If you have JB4 plugged in change the fuel loop open value to 40-45 MassMassa
MassMassa
I changed to 50 from 60 as I had an engine check light - same day as this error. I did wonder if it could be linked. Never happened since. Is 50 ok or 40 the recommended setting? I have no other mods just the JB4 running Map 6 set up by where I purchased it from. To bypass the fault for now jist press the Start/stop button and the fault won't appear.....will more than likely still need a scan and fixing though. PraggersK
I had the same issue. Set at 45 first but still had it. Now at 40 and no issues since. My JB4 with fuel loop open also caused engine light to come on but all sorted now.

I've got this start stop error message coming up every time I start the engine, coincidentally straight after it went in for a service. Scanned and error on vacuum sensor showing but cannot clear it Dan
