Passenger side blowing correctly hot & cold, but drivers side is only blowing cold, what could be the issue?

Sorry to drag up and old thread as well.. bit can anyone tell me if the drivers side mixer motor is actually on the drivers side under the panelling or is it on the passenger side? (Right hand drive car).

I've got the same issue with only blowing cold air from all drivers side vents (passenger side fine)

I've looked at some YouTube videos showing how to get to the motor but it's not clear between LHD/RHD models which side it would be located. Obviously I only want to remove the trim I need to :) thanks

@bitmadmax: Hi

The set-up  for the Cimatronic system on a RHD mk7 is as below:

1 -

Control motor for fresh air and air recirculation flap and air flow flap -V425-

2 -  Front air distribution flap control motor -V426- with potentiometer for front air distribution flap control motor -G642-
3 -

Left temperature flap control motor -V158-

4 -  Defroster flap control motor -V107-
5 -  Right temperature flap control motor -V159-

I hope I'm wrong but I have exactly the same issue and has already been diagnosed as the motor for the coolant system... thought 1 of the wee vents was stuck but can see both moving,  the part sadly something like £650 plus hours of labour to fit..

Thanks... So for the right hand flap it looks like it's drivers knee airbag out job and try and reach up into the dash. Was hoping it was just a bit of trim on the passenger side 🙄

I've been quoted for blocked heater matrix replacement/coolant flush etc for £800.

If it was blocked matrix I'd have thought I'd get no/very little heat at all, but I've got full temperature range (by feel anyway) on passenger side... 🤔

My indi has a contraption for blowing out matrix did nothing he can see the temperature difference between sides and can see the motor not opening right.. if car is hot and sits idling for a while eventually starts getting hotter but as soon as you move off temp on drivers side plummets again.. probably same issue here but hopefully not.. but will need doing b4 winter sadly

@bitmadmax: The Climatronic system in this car is a complex thing - so, of course there is no one-size-fits-all solution to the type of problem that you describe!!

The correct way to diagnose this matter is to start with the information that's currently sitting in fault memory on the Air-conditioning module.

Before you throw money at fixing this problem - I suggest that you SCAN the vehicle and read the error codes. Obviously there can be no guarantees - but the information from the car's self-diagnostic function should steer you in the correct fix direction!
