keano
First use this week end on the house windows in full sun, not a mark left after evaporation. Ordered a 20 litre garden sprayer to final rinse the car off. Nice the sprayer is a good idea - need one that can sheet water perhaps? Edit - actually I might just use a watering can... slider09
I used to use that ‘Flash car wash system’ years ago that had that big Buck Rogers style blue gun that took water filters. Worked well. Must have been quite popular as the filter cartridges were like rocking horse s**t. Found a local Poundland which had them, £1 each. Bought them all and sold them on eBay for £5 each Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
writi
Experimenting (on my nippers car) with the spotless water. Quick wash and then sprayed the whole car twice and left to air dry in the sun. Result ! So Im not going to be able to cheat and not dry the car, it works but I will still be towel drying because if you miss one spot you get left with water marks ! I was not able to get enough flow from the sprayer to get the water to sheet off especially as my drive is flat. Wheels have air dryed well no water marks Will I be using it on my golf, yes but I want to find a small pump to increase the water flow keano and Booth11

I use a resin DI water filter (used via pressure washer) for all stages of the wash and rinse, but always interested in other options and there’s a spotless water coming to my city soon (?). Think I’ll most likely stick with the water filter though. Having a black car and frequently having to wash in full sun, I found even using DI filtered water for a rinse isn’t enough, needs to be used for pre washing and bucket wash stages too otherwise still get water marks, and the ability to sheet water off is crucial. Btw, your nipper’s car looks great!

Sometimes the simple ideas are best 👍 Booth 11, How do you heat the DI water for bucket wash? or do you just cold wash ? Might give it a try through the pressure washer next but agree it would be best if all water through the washing process was spotless

Bit chilly in the hands in winter but no biggie really. Also use the DI water for mixing the snow foam and Citrus pre wash solutions. I get through a fair amount of resin in a year but not too costly and small price to pay for a water mark free car.

writi
After reading the Race Glaze post I think im going to bite the bullet and invest in a DI filter. Question - I have an outside hot tap that runs off the water softener, will this give any problems to the resin ? Dont fancy cold car washing in the winter ❄️⛄

There was a member on here (no longer has an R) that used his water filter set up on an outside hot tap and it worked well.

dopper99
Just looking at the race glaze filter and it says it supply’s around 700 litres of water before fill ups and each fill up is £45. How long will it last between resin fill ups? Obviously that depends of how often you wash your car .... but say if you washed it every other week, how long will it last? also, is there an indicator showing the resin usage so you know when to fill up? How long resin lasts before needing refill all depends on your water hardness, whether you use the filtered water for all of the wash or just final rinse, and how often you wash your car. A 25L bag of mixed bed resin (such as in link below) will cost around £60-£80 and will give you a fair few vessel fill ups. Get resin from window cleaning websites as it’s much cheaper than buying from Raceglaze, so much less expense than £45 a fill up. https://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/unger-resin-25l-bag.html There’s no indicator unfortunately but you’ll get water spots when the resin is spent. Or better, buy one of these TDS meters and test your filter water each use to know when it’s time to change resin. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01C5PAIMM/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item dopper99
Kal-El
Best option is an Aqua Gleam 0ppm Filter. Then you don’t need to dry your car at all. 0 water spots. You’ll be amazed. You can buy them from Clean Your CarKSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk keano
