  1. I had been meaning to revisit this since @sb2001 posted in Sep and finally got round to looking at it last month. I tried a similar technique to last time, in a few different orders and varying the times with the fuse out, however I had slightly different results - some times it didn't stay factory reset and at no point did any 'starred' channels or presets stick, although the station list was being wiped with the resets. Once you do a new search, it does stay in place. I didn't have sufficient spare time over a few days to do it as comprehensively as I'd liked - that would have required working out, writing down, and going through all combos of sequence each time varying the waiting periods in between the steps. Up until last week, it was left as a factory-reset radio that didn't remember any presets (but oddly, showed 11 - 15 each time it was powered on). HOWEVER. Last week, I noticed preset 1-5 was showing when I powered it on. I did note it briefly at the time but didn't think any more about it. The next time I used the car, I listened to a station on the way to an appointment and, half an hour later when I returned to drive home, I noticed the station was still tuned... So set that as Preset 1. Sure enough, when I next used the car, it was still set as Preset 1! The next time, I set a second station as Preset 2 and it's remembered it. So, bizarely, it looks like it's sorted itself out but I don't know why. Nothing else in the car has changed (e.g. no new battery/fuses/alternator)... 😕 Sorry I couldn't get a proven solution!
  2. @Booth11 you mention WoWo MF glass cloths a number of times across the forum - some of the links to the WoWo site in older posts are now dead (tut tut to WoWo not putting redirections on); now, I can only find one MF cloth but it's not specifically for glass - do you have a current cloth recommendation specifically for buffing the inside of the windscreen please? Using Invisible Glass cleaner (as recommended by others elsewhere) but am getting 'dust spots' left at the point the existing MF cloth is removed. TIA.
  3. I'm having the same issue with radio presets and telephone profiles on a MIB2 standard infotainment system. Quite an odd one as they have to be stored/retrieved from somewhere - perhaps there are two ('CMOS'-type?) batteries used to store this info; a main and a backup, and the main is dead/faulty so that whenever power is restored, the backup settings are read? If it's using such batteries, I assume at least one of them is in the infotainment system and therefore difficult to get to. If it's using the main battery instead, I wonder if pulling the connectors for a while might reset? I pulled fuse #10 for a few hours before reinstalling, deleting all the presets, and setting a new one. It persisted! Unfortunately deleting / adding new ones doesn't work again - it reverts to the single new one I added Will try pulling the fuse again and getting a repeatable process (which I'll post); no further posts means it was a fluke!
  4. That's a nice site - downloaded the logos for the stations I use and they work well! Thanks for re-sharing.
  5. FYI, VW now have a 'how-to' page that has a download link for the images and instructions on how to install, though the files are dated 2020 and still have some omissions (e.g. Capital): https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners-and-drivers/my-car/how-to-guides/sat-nav.html
  6. Found an earlier thread on the same thing so will follow-up there. Mods mark as dupe of ?
  7. Thank you for sharing that test - a great vid I'd recommend others watching too. Conclusion was, I won't be considering the PS4 given the PS5's review. The 2022 UHP review is up on the tyrereviews.com site, at https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2022-Tyre-Reviews-UHP-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm - with the Continental SportContact 7 securing the top spot. Had a quick look for them and it seems they aren't doing them in 225/40 R18s yet
  8. So my Michelin 18" PS4 tyres are due for replacement shortly (c. 25k miles done, including a few track sessions - not bad) and the options (in no particular order) as I see them are as follows: same again PS5s PS4S' (yes, available in 18" but not widely) Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics 5 (from video reviews elsewhere) / 6 (from recent comments on this thread) Primacy? Manufacturer web sites are very limited with information (mainly marketing blurb) so difficult to compare technically, even across their range let alone against other manufacturers! Criteria in rough importance order: performance (stability, steering precision, braking) in wet (so A rated) handling in dry more comfort (feel fewer bumps!) than PS4s noise reduction (PS4s are 71dB externally which, give or take one dB, is the same as the other three) There are so many other posts on the forum, each containing a few members' opinions for and against each tyre, but it'd be great to get any views on 1) *how* to compare the manufacturers' tyres against each other and like-for-like between manufacturers, and 2) practical differences between PS4 + PS5 / Asym 5 + 6 and/or experiences related to above criteria. I am leaning towards one of the above tyres but will hold back from saying which so as not to lead others' replies...
  9. See screenshots - am I missing / not doing something obvious? (trying to search for the current recommendations for best internal glass cleaner)
  10. I did have the same initial thought, given a search before posting. My summary "seems it was just low" was a bit throw-away - "low" here should probably refer to the quality / suitability of the remaining stuff in the system, which kind of makes sense - you can leave oil in an engine or gearbox but the quality of it will deteriorate over time. I did some more reading around it being a sealed system therefore leaks need fixing, and it seems the jury is out - others came to the conclusion that it needs to be refreshed every few years and that there is natural (!) leakage. The machine showed that pressure was being held post-fill so let's see what happens.
  11. Quick update. There was still gas coming through the Stryder valve but I had a mobile air con service come round and hook it up to an all-in-one machine. Seems it was just low; once the suck/lube/refill process was complete, it was holding pressure and I have cold air again!
  12. Sensor replaced, still same issue. What does everyone think is next, then - air con check (say, from Halfrauds)?
  13. That's a great find, thank you Penguin. The part mentioned there is 4H0959126B for the high pressure sensor - available for between £20 and £77. https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/vag-pressure-sender-4h0959126b/mpn/4h0959126b shows where it is in the engine bay
  14. Previously, air con left on Auto all the time since new (five years) and was pretty decent at keeping the interior cool. First noticed yesterday. Initially it would cool a little but has now stopped cooling at all. My immediate reaction is because I've not used the car much in the past 16 months, "it's dried up". Not sure how to proceed though; I assume any leaks would have shown up in the previous five years so perhaps low on "gas"? How does something like this get "topped up" (edit: I think the phrase is recharged) or replaced? Is it a DIY job? Have cleared the code but still same. Anyone else had this or know anything useful about it? Only other post I found on here didn't advise the fix
  15. Just found I have one of those codes - can you advise how you fixed it? New, related post at
