  1. Got it done last year £230 after negotiation. It was up at £280ish but In the end they charged half hour labour instead of an hour.
  2. Mine doesn't sound like that when I switch off and the pump starts circulating fluids after a run.
  3. Just something to think about.
  4. Several years ago I had my car at a vw garage and was talking with the master technician and had to get something out of the glove box which was locked, when he saw me unlocking it he said you should never lock it. When I asked him why he said how long do you think that lock would keep someone out if they've broken into the car to take something (opportunist thief as opposed to a car thief) not long. His point being instead of just getting a side window replaced or whatever, if they damage the dash forcing it it becomes a really big job getting a new dash ordered and all the work replacing it and you hoping the make a good job of it. Never locked glove box again even if my car had one.
  5. That's what makes this forum so good, it doesn't matter what car or which fuel it uses if someone can help they will. Brilliant.
  6. Should have said you can alter the maximum volume the system will allow.
  7. Go into settings - either sound or volume I can't remember and you can alter the volume for lots of things including motorway driving.
  8. It was less than £25 with the 5 rivets (scrivets) from dealership two months ago when I bought one.
  9. And isofix covers on back seat. Apr-May build no battery cover - garage supplied one for me.
  10. Dealership gave me a letter stating they would cover car in years 4&5 to the same level of cover as VW so no need to reject.
  11. Almost the same thing happened with me as TurboTrev, ordered new car with various options including the 5yr warranty. Car arrived roughly 12 weeks later and all was well or so I thought until three months later when a cheque arrives for the same amount as the warranty with no explanation. After weeks of trying to find out what was going on i finally find out the garage office person accidentally left out the warranty option when sending the order to VW. To cut a long story short the garage tried everything to get it added on again including sending them a copy of my original order showing I had ordered it and their office staff had messed the order up. I was told VWUK sent this to VW in Germany showing that it had been ordered correctly by me and that it was not my fault but they refused to add it on again point blank. Shows what they think of you as a loyal customer as this was my 13th new car from them in as many years.
  12. Yeah that's why I thought the noise Rebecca was hearing is not the same symptom that yours has. With mine it's a sort of scraping noise but as I said only when it's wet.
  13. First time it happened was in a 2010 scirocco and like you nothing in my mk5.
  14. I think this might be a different noise you're hearing Booth 11, every VW I've had in the past few years has done this but only when it's been raining or damp. It's exactly as you say low speed manoeuvring on full lock either forward or reverse, it doesn't do it any other time so I think it's just a VW thing in certain weather conditions.
  15. Agree with you 100%. Now two of us.
