I remember there was a good deal on Castrol edge in ASDA a few months ago. I'm needing some for a top up. Anyone spotted any good deals around? Cheers.

Hi Guys, I'm about to change the Haldex oil in my car- and I'm looking for the replacement fill/drain plugs and a few other bits. Most internet searches are coming up with US sites or ridiculous shipping charges. Can anyone recommend some place that's good for these kinds of items in the UK/Europe 1- Haldex fluid 850ml: G-060-175-A2 (x1)2- Drain plug: N-910-827-01 (x1)3- Fill Plug: N-902-818-02 (x1) 4- Pump o-rings and bolts kit 0CQ-598-305 : Thanks, Dan

My Australian Gold R 7.5 about once a week or so would run the fans after engine switch off ,after time in traffic or spirited driving. Oil temps ran 100-109C. Since getting an APR Stage 1 tune, I have noticed that the oil temp sits between 96 and 100C and takes longer to get there. Since the tune the fans have never switched on after shut down. Yet they work during driving and if also if the A/C is on. I can here the pump circulating coolant after switch off. Is this unusual? Why would the tune bring about the change? Car only has 1600 miles on it and running perfect. TIA Rob.

Why isn't the oil level displayed in the instruments panel, given most other things are these days? I find it difficult to read the bendy gauge. First, it accumulates oil as it bends. Second, the demarcation between oil and non-oil is very unclear. Why don't they add a dye to make it easier? I've had a Golf GTI or above since the 80s, and this is one of the few things that has got worse. The straight ruler was easy to use and read. The new ones are close to impossible for me. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something I just don't know? I am sorry if this question appears a bit trivial, but it really bugs me.

Just a quick question as VW are taking forever to get back to me, my first oil change is due soon and have been quoted £184 for the job which I think is a con for an oil and filter change. Question is if I am using the recommended oil and genuine VW filters but do it a non-VW service center does this then void my warranty? Also in the first service is there anything else involved or is just oil and filters?

This has happened twice now, driving along, and get the notice pop up check oil level. Pull over when i can, turn engine off and pull dip stick. All is fine so carry on my way. Let car sit over night then check oil level before starting, All if fine again. Turn engine on and the check oil notice has gone. A few days later it happens again, The oil is due a oil change in 900 miles. Anyone else had this happen?

Good Afternoon All, My Mk7 R recently had its second service including oil change service. Since new the oil temperature has always hovered around the 104°C mark going up to 105-106°C. Since the oil change service it now hovers around 99-100°C, rarely goes above this. Do you think they have changed to oil characteristics? Any other thoughts or feedback on what other peoples oil temperatures are? Ben
