Shorty
Has anyone had a loan car off VW due to the wait? On Golf R's if the wait passes 16 weeks since you ordered it then VW supply you with a loan car until yours arrives.. My 16 week stage is the 15th December and I'm currently at BW3 which would mean March 1st Delivery so I'm hopefully going to get a car off them. I told my dealer that I'll have no car from this weekend, I need to sell mine to pay the deposit, so they've agreed to give me a loan car until mine arrives. Saying that, I should only really need a loan car for a week or so.

Does it form part of the lease period if a leasing agreement is involved?
Jenny19
VWCS told me generally once the wait passes 20 weeks they will give you a loan car, depends on the dealer though
Shorty
VWCS told me generally once the wait passes 20 weeks they will give you a loan car, depends on the dealer though I spoke to a guy in VWCS yesterday who even checked and clarified it's 16 weeks, normally it's 20 weeks but with Golf R's it's 16. My car is on PCP and not leased, don't know how it effects people with them on lease. I spoke to my dealer this morning who went all quiet when I started mentioning it.. I'd be interested to hear what they say to you about this. I would rather sell me car now before it loses anymore value and run a loan car round for a few months before taking delivery of R. batman101
My countdown app tells me my R is 96 days away, each day I check it even though I know exactly what's it's going to say as I checked it five times the day before. Am I sad? It's been on order since the 4th of Sept and I'm getting fidgety now. Can someone lend me one for a weekend so I can get a quick fix? Pigpen
Rang VWCS to inform them UK VW Configurator for R has been down for nearly a week. They were not aware of this! Perhaps it is with the introduction of the estate 'R'?

Well when i contacted my supplying dealer about a loan car i got the following reply: 'We do not have a car available to loan you while you wait for your car to be delivered. However we can offer you is preferential hire rates through Fleet Alliance, (approx. £122.50 per week for a Golf size car)' This is for a lease vehicle. That is probably complete hogwash and definitely a total rip-off! We just sold off my wife's car while she waits on her i3 and got a mk7 golf 1.6TDI from Enterprise for £183 for 2wks (under £100/wk). This rental is from their branch in Aberdeen (which is a rather expensive place). In any case her delivery date got pushed back till wk 50 and after speaking to the bmw dealership, they offered a loan car to be picked up at the end of the week when she has to return the rented car. No hassles, no argument. I have to say, that's extremely good customer service if you ask me. Bear in mind that she ordered the i3 as recently as end of September. Driller
My dealer called tonight and the car is at the garage. He needs to organise the finance so hopefully that will be straight forward although sasquatch888 story is not making me confident. I struggled to get a copy of the quote but do have it now with all the signed off paperwork to date and deposit paid. getting excited now though
