pafalco Posted July 11, 2021 Report Share Posted July 11, 2021 Hi all, I am a prospective buyer of a 3 door Golf R mk 7.5. My name is Paolo and am from Italy. In January sold my 2016 Fiesta ST (Revo stage 2) , covid restrictions lead to pratically no use at all (300 km fom 3/2020 to 1/2021). Now am in search for a substitute, initially my choice was a 981 base cayman, but soon realized that it was low in power. Then I turned my attention to a BMW M2 (23 years ago I owned a E30 M3 cabrio) but here in Italy roadf taxes are prohibitive for cars with more than 252 Hp , a base M2 with 370 hp pays 2800€ every year , and the registration is another 2000€. So my actual choice is a 3 door Golf R mk 7.5, possibly with optional Akrapovic exhaust. Thank you all for all the good information that I can find here, and please forgive my poor english.... Found a 2018, 26k miles mk7.5 R in Uranio gray ( from the papers a pearlescent custom tint) 5 door ( i know… was looking for a 3 door, but are too few, actually only 1 for sale in italy ang 11 in germany, all poorly specced ones) . The previous owner was a VW manager, a company car, maintained at no expense spared, with 2 years “das welt auto platinum” like a new car, and stratospherically specced: you name it, it is present: Akrapovic, R-Performance, Pretoria, full nappa leather, dynaudio, discover pro, carbon mirror covers, dsg, wireless phone charger, DCC, ACC, keyless, virtual cockpit, and so many others that is impossible to list, 196 in total, for a total of well over 20k €. Paid 37.400€ comprensive of all and delivered at my house, 400 miles from the seller, an official vw dealer obviously, including the ridiculous italian tax on the transfer of property, about 1400€. Price €37400 (£32048) sounded high but after checking on A*totrader - there are very high spec./ low miles cars advertised at such prices here. pafalco Posted August 28, 2021 Author Report Share Posted August 28, 2021 in January when I sold my previous car prices are lower, at that time I found a 2019 R with only 4000 km priced at 30.000 €, albeit a basic specced car, but almost new, but prices are soaring now, the cause is probably the chip shortage. Seems like a 7.5 and not a 7, as I don’t think the 7 had virtual cockpit and inductive charging options, but I may be mistaken.Sell car … where are you in Italy ?We love Italy (been there 10 times) and plan to visit it again soon.last time was Aug ‘19, last hoora before COVID.After hiking around Lago Como and cycling around the Dolomites, we spend a few days in motor valley, visited the Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani factories.
