So although I am immensely pleased to hear that THE @Booth11 Golf R has finally arrived at the dealer, the owner, definitely not owner of VWROC, and is being picked up on Thursday, I just can't get it out of my head the fact that he has crossed countries by train, oceans by boat, the "north" by truck, excited to meet its new owner, to just be left in the back, in a car parking space, whilst it watch's its friends being unveiled to its owners under cloth, clean and with its tail waging, to be told, "this is how your owner wants you"... Keeping me up nights this you know!

I’m touched that you’re more emotional about Pablo than his new owner to be. 😂 He will have to look on with sad moist eyes at all the other new cars having their special moment in the showroom, in the knowledge that his new owner cares not a jot that he is left languishing in the car park, unloved, dishevelled, unpampered…..

Spoke to the dealership today who reckons it will be a January pickup. That suits perfectly and will be a good way to begin the year.

It’s an outrage! It’s a scandal! You’ve not just let yourself down, you've let your family down, and to be frank, you’ve let the entire VWROC community down. If I see any photographs on Thursday of Pablo out the back covered in fifth IM GOING TO KICK OFF. Thank you. 💁🏼‍♂️

That’s exactly how my mk8R members’ thread started - with a few shots of a grubby Snoopy out the back of the dealership car park, Pablo will get nothing less then that 😉  At that dealership it was a regular request to them not to touch peoples cars so they didn’t bat an eyelid.  

The lovely sales lady dealing with my 8.5R order said today that she felt like she was neglecting her duties with my car with it not being valeted but said she did understand as her dad has a classic Ford and I one is allowed to touch it but him.  😁

Hi guys, a former regular in here, I've been back lurking with great interest in the past couple of months. This info might be of interest to some of you...  I'm waiting on a new CS. It had been assigned a BW49, but week 49 came and went and there was no movement. Today (week 51) it finally went into production. The dealer tells me he was told there was a delay/restriction on "parking sensors". Putting 2+2 together, I reckon the recent amendment to make "Park assist pro" a standard fit item is the likely underlying reason. I have a pano roof spec'd too, but that isn't the reason for the delay, so I'm told.

Thanks for sharing that info Joe, be helpful for anyone with a delay. 
 

We know that Park Assist Pro is standard on any cars build from week 48 onwards.  
 

I think some people on here have had delays from week 47 though which is before the Park Assist Pro standard date.

Yeah, looking forward to it now. I've had my MK8 for over 3 years and I've been very happy with it. It's been largely gremlin-free. But of course the launch of the 8.5 got the hamster spinning in my head again and here I am!

They are a very expensive car here now, the CS is about 10k more retail than it was when I bought in 2021. The R is just too far out of reach realistically...
