  1. Booth, helpful as ever!! I will have a look at the guides etc and hopefully get it back up and running!
  2. Karcher K5. No problems with that. It just occurs on the snow foam. Someone has suggested blocked lance due to the hard water area I live in. Sounds reasonable.
  3. Can anyone explain why my new short gun and lance combo is not spraying continously. It sprays then the pressure drops, sprays, pressure drop etc. (can not think how else to explain it) Any suggestions.
  4. I'll be moving mine on soon too. I will be working closer to home meaning I can walk. Mine is on a PCP which I can clear and still bank a nice lump which I will sit on until prices return to normal and I need a car. The wife owns an S3 so I will still get to have a blast when the need arises! Just seems like a sensible time to sell up and I suspect others will be considering doing the same.
  5. I think the delay in reporting will be Auto glasses 'get out of jail free card' They could have been pinched in the intervening period (slim I know) Fingers crossed you get a gesture of goodwill but I suspect not.
  6. @Ignition1 wish words and its defo where I think I find myself. The MK8 would be nice to own, new car, new tech and all that but I really don't think it warrants the huge overall price hike. Perhaps if the discounts become better, which I doubt or the value of the base model improves e.g. It includes more free options, then I may reconsider. Until that point, I'll stick with my 7.5 happy it has equity I cannot do anything with and hope that it stays there long enough for me to enjoy later 👍
  7. Thanks for the VED information. Seems the MK8 is going to be in the higher bracket, which is crazy. I was only looking to change because of the value of the 7.5, I still love it so its no great shakes if I don't get into an 8. Don't seem in the long run to look as attractive once you add in deposits, higher tax and a rise in my monthlies. I'm gonna stay put for thr time being.
  8. I think that is my biggest reservation, it is just a Golf and I don't mean that in a derogatory way but 50k is a lot for a mid level car (not in terms of performance but quality and prestige) As DJS2394 says its personal preference. Just feels that I could get into a used RS3 or M4 Comp for new Golf money. Interestingly, Drive the Deal just offered me a new MK8 with paint, performance pack, HUD and digital key with 6k discount!!! That puts it in the lower tax bracket but there is a 20 week wait in which time my 7.5 value may plummet. Monthlies are a bit too high. Think it's all to difficult and I'm going to stay with my 7.5, which is an awesome car. This thread might give others the help others if they were thinking about moving on..
  9. As everyone knows the 7.5's prices are through the roof currently. So that got me thinking, could I get into a similar spec MK8 for the same monthlies (PCP, works for me. Not everyone's cup of tea) Anyway put the feelers out to my local dealer who offered me the following: £28750 PX on my 2019 Lapiz blue, Prets car. 😳 MK8 lapiz, estorils, camera, winter pack. Wanted DCC but this was a preordered car available in July. Anyway, I ended up saying no. The monthlies were £17 more, no problem but this low spec MK8 is still a 40k car; putting me in the 5 year higher tax bracket. I just walked away........ Was that a mistake 🤣🤣
  10. I've fitted one of the to my MK7.5. I think it looks the nuts. Really easy to fit, just follow the instructions.
  11. I find the VW sat nav dire. If can, use apple car play or android auto. Much better sat nav applications and no need to update 😉
  12. Cheers all. I'll follow on Insta and look at the link.
  13. Hi all I'm looking to buy a Maxton splitter and wondered if anyone can tell me if they have great discounts at specific points in the year e.g Black Friday, Easter etc. I've found a 10% discount and wonder if thats my lot. Any information appreciated. Thanks
  14. No real reviews. I think it takes a special kind of detailer enthusiast to want to blow dry their car with a dog special. So admitting it for a review seems pretty rare 🤣
  15. Glad we are in the same page @Booth11 I mean, if you would use one, it's gotta be fine, right 🤷
  16. Right, I'm usually one for brands and the mantra 'you get what you pay for' however, sometimes that is a bit pricey. So...... Would you use one of these car driers as opposed to one of the branded car detailer ones which are three times the price. I currently use drying towels and think they are heavily to blame for the swirls on my R's soft clear coat. Opinions welcome.
  17. The dated interior would be a real issue for me. My wife has a 2016 S3 and I barely use it because it is so different inside. My 2019 R is just a nicer, more modern place to sit. May seem petty but it's a real thing for me. No digi dash, no android auto, no touch screen etc etc.
  18. I wonder if the lack of interest has come from our current pandemic ?? The risk of the whole event being cancelled or postponed because if the ever changing social distancing rules has probably made most enthusiasts a little nervous and reluctant to make plans. Let's get this life threatening, social life wrecking, holiday plan scuppered illness under control and I suspect you would get a little more interest. Just saying. 👍🏻👍🏻
  19. 7.5 have matching cornering bulbs as standard, not the yellow of the MK7
  20. Can anyone provide me with a discount code for EZ Mods please??
  21. Gave the car a wash, polish and wax. Used Ads Car Care products. Easy to use and great results.
  22. I can confirm for a manual, you have to reselect race to ensure the 4 exhaust flaps are open. The car may be in race mode but there is no distinctive change in note until you re-select race mode
  23. Did mine and the wifes car today. Both look spanking but I have to say, her 2016 Audi has much better paint than my 2019 R. Shame really as the R's colour does pop when clean
  24. I think you have to check a tick box in the menu to activate folding mirrors, if you have the option that is.
  25. As everyone says, whatever suits you. Personally PCP works for me. 2k down in 2016 for a brand new mk7. All the benefits of a new car, monthlies I was happy with. 2019, used the equity in the mk7 plus another VW contribution and £500 from me for another brand new 7.5. Again all the benefits of new and monthlies I was happy with. For a lease, the monthlies will be cheaper but I don't like the idea of trying to find 2-2.5k every couple of years to sign up to a new lease deal. At least with a prestige motor, depreciation won't be so bad. Therefore at the end of a PCP you should have money to put into a new motor. Personal loan is defo the cheapest way but when you try and borrow 25k plus, interest goes up, therfore the monthlies will be similar to a PCP and you will still own an older car once its paid off, which probably won't be worth that much. It will be out of warranty in the time you own it, you'll have to wait for new models etc if you want to own it outright. At least with PCP you can change quite often. Anyway, just my thoughts.
