  1. Excellent, I will try that as well, thanks !!
  2. I am having a similar problem to the OP, I occasionally especially if sat in heavy traffic get a low coolant warning light pop up. On looking under the bonnet the level is below minimum, but returns to correct level if you undo the reservoir cap and release the pressure. There is obviously no leak or coolant loss, because as I said the level returns to normal when the pressure is released. Bearing in mind liquids will not expand or compress, the only thing that can expand and create pressure with heat is the air in the reservoir. So my theory is that it must be a problem with the 23psi release mechanism on the reservoir cap. Anybody have any thoughts on this ??
  3. Thanks for the replies, that gives me something to experiment with at least. For the record the car is a post WLTP 2019 Mk7.5 if that makes any difference.
  4. Sorry if this seems like a basic question, but i'm not very tech savvy. I have an old OBDeleven box that I haven't used for about 5 yrs, it seems to be working, and have updated the app on my Android phone. But I cannot find a menu that allows me to reset the service warning, which I would have thought would have been one of the most commonly used and simple function on the app. Can any one help please ?
  5. Mine is going in for creaky suspension in a couple of weeks. Really hoping they can sort it, as it's the only thing that would put me off buying the car at the end of the lease. I love the car other than this minor annoyance, and having seen all the reviews of the Mk8's crappy swipey touchscreens, I don't fancy a new one.
  6. I've tried all the different fuels, in a number of different performance cars over the years, could not say I've ever noticed any change in power or performance. I do however give my cars the occasional tank of the good stuff (V power) especially the diesels, purely for the the cleaning additives, to keep injectors etc clear.
  7. Just got this down to £480 by going directly to LV. RESULT !!! Just shows the comparison sites aren't always the way to go, but it does mean a lot more "leg work" getting quotes directly from individual companies.
  8. Just found this advert for my old car, and was a little surprised by the price.Bearing in mind it sold at BCA auctions Bedford a month ago, for £21200 + Auction fees + Transportation to Belfast + prep.I can't believe it's worth the trouble, for this little mark up. Just shows there ain't much meat on the bone for dealers these days. https://www.ballyrobert.co.uk/used-cars/9699767-volkswagen-golf-2.0-tsi-r-5dr-dsg/
  9. Ordered mine in October last year, and have just had confirmation that they can deliver it to me on 15th March. (only 2 months later than originally promised 🤬) My understanding is the car has actually been in the country a little while, just held up by the WLTP thing. So is there any quick way to check whether this is a 310ps car or the later 300ps car ?
  10. Absolutely, I would be all over a deal like that !!
  11. I didn't ask for a purchase price for mine, but I did watch it go through the BCA Auctions at Bedford a couple of weeks ago. 2017 "66" Black Golf R 5 door Hatch DSG Rear 90% tints Keyless 20850 miles & Immaculate Hammer price was £21200.
  12. My new one is being delivered two weeks tomorrow, so I'm currently looking for insurance. 46 yrs old Full NCD 12k miles per yr. 3 pnts for speeding on the motorway from 2015. All quotes over £600 so far, which is a bit disappointing to be honest.

  14. I've just insured with LV. Was with Churchill last year, paid £515, this year they wanted £700 and something. 45 yrs old, a reasonable area in Herts, 9yrs + NCD. £411 with LV, with protected no claims, legal, and courtesy car. No knowledge of what they would be like in the event of a claim though, and don't really want to find out to be honest.
