    Doesn't fit all VAG?

I’ve got the same problem with my 2018 MY Passat GTE. It fitted the Golf R Estate but won’t go in the socket in the Passat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does anyone have MIB2 and arm rest USB?

My ‘16 plate MK7, R Estate had an MIB2 (Discover Nav) with App Connect (CarPlay) and Voice Activate added by the dealer. It had USB ports in both the phone cubby hole in front of the gear stick AND in the armrest. I believe both work with CarPlay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    17 Inch Winter Wheels

I had 17” Classix from an ‘06 Golf GT on my R Estate. There is just enough clearance from the callipers. 17” is a better choice for winter tyres as they let you use higher profile tyres as recommended for winter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    golf r wing mirrors

The other thing to consider is that they are the easiest thing to nick. I had a set stolen while ny R Estate was parked on the street near Hampstead Heath. Better to risk a £60 pair off eBay than £600-worth of the real thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Aftermarket wing mirror covers

I paid just over £60 for the ones on my R Estate. They were on ebay and seemed to fit pretty well - until they got nicked!! Replacements were slightly cheaper. No way would I pay any more for something that is so easily targeted by some light fingered scroat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Engine bay different colour?

For what it’s worth, my silver 2017 Passat GTE is the same. It almost looks like primer with a very light colour coat that doesn’t match the main body colour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    18/19 inch wheels

From my experience I’d say “Yes”. I found 19” wheels give quite a harsh ride, 18” significantly less so. As you might expect, the deeper the tyre sidewall the more comfortable the ride. Conversely, the shorter sidewall gives an improvement to the handling. 19” tyres are significantly more expensive than 18” too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    MK7 - Discover DVD navigation pro 9.2"

When I bought my ‘16 plate R Estate it was advertised on the VW Das Welt site as having the Discover Pro with 8’ screen but the reality was it only had the regular Discover setup with the 6.5” screen. The VW web site is notoriously inaccurate when it comes to fitted options. Buyer beware!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil service due!! What to do??

There is no service book now so maintenance is only recorded on the VW computer system. Receipts and photos good from an independent but would likely get marked down if traded to a VW dealer with “incomplete” history. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dealer dongle

It’s called Dataplug and it connects with the VW Connect app on your phone or tablet to show all manner of facts about the car including the route taken on every journey, fuel consumption etc. I think it also tracks servicing and fuelling too. I found it useful in my R Estate and was annoyed to find it wasn’t supported on my new Passat GTE Estate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    MK7.5 R estate rear lights

It's my understanding that the 7.5 R Estate at least has LED rear lights so you could probably code something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Certainly not a "while you wait" service from either. Pristine take the best part of a week and easily a few days if you rush them. I suspect Lepsons are the same. I think both do a collect and deliver service but that probably adds to the turnaround. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Pristine and Lepsons are both very good at what they do but they both will remove the tyre (which they charge for), strip the wheel completely, refinish and refit the tyre (which they charge again for). For minor damage someone like Dent Wizards will come to you, deflate the tyre and refinish the damaged area for around £45 with virtually no down time. Had two of my Prets done a couple of weeks ago and they're perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Oil quality coding

It's nothing to do with oil quality as the same oil is used regardless of time/mileage setting. It's more to do with usage - low annual mileage requires an annual oil change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
