Had a new OE battery fitted yesterday and car is starting perfect & stop start is working too (forgot the car even had it!) Had wanted to upgrade to the Bosch that's well recommended on here, but the cheapest I could find it here was just over €250 where the new OE battery cost me €117

Had the Discovery Pro screen replaced in mine - there were a number of vertical lines on it from when I purchased it. Was immediately annoyed about it and thought it was cracked but after searching here I seen it's fairly common and usually replaced under warranty. Car went to VW where they agreed to replace it, blessed considering it was only a few days before the warranty ended

Got my R coated (Paint, wheels & glass) with GTechniq soon after I collected it and would definitely recommend it. Cleaning is a doddle now, even after not being washed for long periods. Some pics to try help you decide: Almost a year since it's been done and it's still as glossy now after a wash and water behavior as expected too

Car is in for a service today and asked the guys to look at the battery too. Car hasn't been used as much as it used to be, but more so now (still only ~20km a day) and, if it's parked up on a Friday and try to start it on a Monday it'll barely start, or more likely, not start.

From searching about my issue it seems to vary a lot, some low mileage ones have needed replacing much sooner than you'd anticipate. Car is going in for a full service tomorrow so will get them to have a look at the battery too. Sent from my SM-F926B using Tapatalk

Hi Guys, done a search and fairly sure it's a new battery but said I'd run it my more knowledgeable folk on here before I buy a new one. My 7.5 R has a tendency to turn over slightly and not start with dash etc going out, then when taking the key out & back in again, it'll more often than not start. Last time I connected OBD11 to check the battery, it was up to ~38% charge after an hour or so drive around backroads. Could it possibly be an alternator issue or is it battery? I've been meaning to get a multimeter out to check the battery but, as usual, I can't find it. Cheers

I know that pain only too well, my previous R had half the mileage but black tips that I couldn't clean for love nor money! I'll be putting some CarPro Dlux on mine to make them easier to clean Sent from my SM-G988B using Tapatalk

Thanks for the replies. I'd read that the exhaust tips stay much cleaner with a GPF - mine are still clean so that led me to think the car might have one. It was registered in March 18 so going by what was posted it seems I don't have one. I'll have a good look around under to check Sent from my SM-G988B using Tapatalk

Recently collected a '18 Golf R (registered in March 2018) and wondering if it has a GPF - is there a quick way to tell? I've done some searching but can't seem to find any concrete information about when they were added. Do all 7.5s have them? Thanks
