Hello guys, I have a golf 7r the car it’s amazing but when i launch in 4000rpm the car has a power cut and then goes again, when I launch in about 3200rpm the car launches just fine, also after a motorway run or drive dor about 1-2h the car has a a bit of front wheel spin but when I restart the car it’s fine again, thank you in advance!

Hi guys, I’m just enquiring about my Golf R MK7.5. I’ve had it remapped by AwesomeGTi a while ago (OEM+ ECU & TCU tunes). I’m just wondering what it should be revving at when I’m launch mode. It used to be 4k RPM, now its 5.5k - is this normal? (I’m talking about when you’re ready to launch and have still got your foot on the brake.) I’ve seen videos online of Stage 1 being at 4k still. Also, I’m getting some wheel spin now, which didn’t happen previously. Thanks, Sam

Just seen this on www.autoinstruct.com.au has anyone done this? “Starting Vibration Reduction In wheel slip scenarios, where wheel hop is typically induced, this tweak will stop the intervention of the braking system, allowing you to continue spinning the wheels. Assist with launching the vehicle, and stops the car from ‘bogging down’.” I have a manual R and when if I hold the revs and then dump the clutch it get bogged down for just a second and then it’s off, I’m interested to see if this could help with it at all.

As title, Had my 7.5r estate 3 weeks now and at 2000 miles I thought I would treat it to its first launch. Pulled amazingly off the line and then when changing into second there was a nasty thud... it did just carry on doing its thing and when going into third it wasn't as smooth as I predicted... Carried on about my business and had a little hoon dropping through gears etc and everything seems fine. I tried launch again and it was perfect and smooth throughout gears... Not sure wether to be worried as such..? could it have been to do with surface?? (even though it was just normal dry tarmac ) Was hoping to get it tuned in future but think I may have to avoid that now in case something is a miss.

So sitting at 979 miles last night i figured I was close enough to the magic 1k to see what launch control did. Having failed to find a quiet enough section of "Private road" *cough* to try it out on all I could do was go through the setup process to see what happened. I knew that on the later 7R you got a message "launch program active" at around 4k (or 3.5k, I don't want to restart that argument). So I was somewhat surprised to discover that my facelift displays that message and restricts the RPM at just 2.5k I'm fairly sure my process was normal - in race, traction off, stationary with foot on brakes. Any other 7.5R owners tried it yet?

Morning, Thought I would let you guys know that there is a Straightliners event up here in Cumbria this weekend. Its a normal RWYB 1/4 event. Great for anyone in the Northwest as everywhere else is miles away, certainly from anyone like me in Cumbria. Its on an old airfield and often gets a nice array of cars there. Can be quiet so you get loads of runs if you want. After all these Vags own the 1/4mile strip. Ill be running my mapped M5 if weather is dry enough...

Hi, Had my eye on this forum for a while, helped me choose my car- I've gone for a DSG Lapis MK7 Golf R, with the Pretorias, the big nav and the toasty bum pack. Test drove a MK6 before deciding on this one, and while the 6 was awesome, the 7 just feels to be in a different class altogether (just my opinion, don't mean to offend any 6 owners!) And Launch Control made me giggle like a girly girl! Dan
