There is no way each ship can take 10,000 cars. The Weser Highway which is a regular Emden/Grimsby ship only takes 750 units it says.

Have a look on www.kess.kline.de they have a few of the regular Emden ships.

That makes more sense then!  It would be so much easier to go and get it myself though.

Lots of ballast (usually something useful like Bauxite going to an aluminium smelting plant, or grain), plenty of fuel, plenty of filled shipping containers on the top deck and you're soon left with far less weight capacity for car transport.

BW9 and still sat at Emden Docks and there are even a few BW7's and BW8's.  Bonkers!  There can't be that much parking on the docks if each ship can take 10,000 cars.  I'm sending Dr Who over to sort out the mystery as Scooby Doo is watching Super Vet.

What does your dealer say is on his grown-up version of the tracker?  They can see which compound they're in, indicating which part of the process of 'stuck at the docks' they're at.

She tells me as soon as it's on a ship she will let me know.  So they can tell which compound it is in and when that area will be shipped?

I don't think they can tell when a vehicle will move out of a compound, but they can see when it is moved from compound to compound, and each compound has a different purpose.  For example, when my car arrived at Sherness it sat in one compound for a week, and then on Tuesday (I think) it was moved into the 'Loading compound'.  That meant that it was about to go onto a transporter.  Yesterday they could see that it had been loaded, and today it arrived.  They said that they could also see that if the car's details turned from grey to pink, that means that there's a problem.
