GolfR_Cameron
Hello all. Went to my car tonight after a weekend away to find that some d***head has bashed the passenger side front wing in the car park outside my flat. Has anyone replaced a front wing themselves and if so any info? Will get quotes from local body shops tomorrow but suspect they will be very expensive. So hoping instead to get a matching second hand wing in good condition or get a new one sprayed to fit myself. Cameron. sss555

You might need to find the correct paint and get it professionally painted if it’s not colour correct. I had this happen to me lucky I had a dash cam with parking mode, caught the perpetrator and claimed on their insurance, Derek. GolfR_Cameron
Thanks for the replies. That panel looks a good price Derek, however my car is the 2018 model so not sure it will fit? I wish I had a camera set up like yours, to say I’m angry would be a massive understatement! Dave, I think the door is ok thankfully, a couple of tiny marks but I’ll hopefully get away with it. SimR
You may need to blend the door if the colour is way out. Even with a new wing you may have to blend.
Golf67
I had my nsf wing replaced by main dealer body shop after someone vandalised it. £530 all in, perfect job.
DerekLauMusic
From what I understand the difference between 7 & 7.5 are the lights, but I’ve seen people who has installed a 2018 light unit onto a 2015 vehicle. But to have the panel replaced for £530 inc. labour, it’s a good deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Been quoted £505 locally today, and that was for a repair not a replacement. Heres another pic after I washed the car, I don’t normally allow it to get so dirty! Might be be worth giving VW a call by the sounds of it. Thanks to all for your input.
Scotty2hotty
I would definitely not get a cheap non genuine wing as they never fit correctly and suffer with rusting as lost are made of sh*te metal, also I would not have that wing repaired. For the time and effort it would take to repair that wing against the price of a new (genuine) wing it just isn’t worth it plus they would still have to blend the adjacent panel anyway so why have a 2018 plate car and save £50-100 and have a wing 2/3 full of filler and more than likely won’t be the right shape anyway. If you can find a good wing that has original paint off a similar year car then chances are it will match and probably save yourself a big lump of cash. JoeGTI7
Your door is scuffed too. Unfortunately to get that 100% right you’ll have to paint the new wing and the door and possibly blend into the rear door.
Scotty2hotty
The rear door won’t need blending as the slight damage to the door is right at the door edge where it meets the wing so plenty of room on that panel to blend into.
