Hi, my wife and I just got 2023 m135i to replace 2019 model. Got almost identical features and colour.

I noticed today it has more exhaust note with overrun pops, gesture control (my son loves) and feels slightly more planted.

I test drive s3 recently and was underwhelmed snd 8R interior felt cheap. I still love my stage 2 7R but as stock car this is by far best we’ve had.

As i have said before i would love the Mk8 Golf R but the gremlins are a no no for me.

This will be my next car if VW don't get it sorted and the only downside is the gearbox isn't the ZF but the interior more than makes up for it.

Enjoy.

Mark, having done 50k Km in these,  I can tell you this trans actually works really well. We drive in sports mode almost all the time which makes throttle response sharp like adding pedal box.

If tuning I would want the bigger engine and ZF trans though as proven. But it’s a very strong and responsive engine for 2L 4cy. The interior and features we have spot on.

I didn’t test drive 8R but s3 sedan same engine etc was underwhelming to drive. Felt more lag than previous model. I loved the previous s3 we had and my 7R spot on performance wise but stock form the bmw way better package.

Both of you got the same car?

Dealer must have loved that sale.

That was when both there. We just replaced the old one end of lease with new one. It got sold and picked up hour later.

I still have my Stage 2 7R not going anywhere in while. I think only way that car goes is if we get m240i next lease and end of lease I take that as mine and go stage 2 mods. That’s only car calling me as “upgrade” it’s very hard to find better car than nicely modified stage 2 R that isn’t insane $$$.

The dealer is great gave my son m sport cap, as he was checking out the m4 in showroom. Has good taste 11yo. My wife extra bottle of champagne and arranged 60k quantas points we can use for flights to go away. Didn’t expect any of that so nice bonus.
