AHG
Sometimes it needs a few restarts, resets, and some driving. Some say a full steering wheel turn left until the hard stop, hold it 3 sec, then full turn right, hold, and back to center, should erase all the fault coeds and quiet it down (for next time). Nothing new in the VAG world, unfortunately.
aldfort
It is true that some software updates do require that the car re-learns the steering angle sensor positions. Sadly VAG don't tell you this either. Of course it will re-learn them in normal driving, eventually! AHG
Zico
Quick post to confirm my 8.5 R BE came with the latest software as kind of expected for a 2026 factory build. Not tried or testing anything to see if's got any gremlins yet.
Rossdh91
Has anyone with an early build 8.5 managed to receive any firmware update vie the OTA function yet? I get the occasional app update, but that’s it.

I am on different system software now though but that’s because my car had to have the dealer applied big PV4 update (after paddle fix messed up heated steering wheel). I started off on 2565 and now on 2768. Rossdh91

Now having second service so 2 years old and they checked to see if any software updates were needed (as I wouldn't be able to wait at the garage in that case as it takes too long) and the answer was no. On the positive side I've had no issues at all except one oddity where on one drive it wouldn't let me turn off start/stop, said function was unavailable. Start/stop was however working fine, I just couldn't turn it off. On the next drive it was back to normal and not happened since. Other than that I've had no errors or bongs that I recall in 2 years of ownership and its been a great car. Like you, I've had some app updates and the maps are updated, but that's been it. So if it isn't broken don't try and fix it I guess is VWs plan.

furious_iPod
would be thankful for help, guys. I do not have an option of software update via OTA/Dealers. What is the current software version for EU 8R 2022 – 1985 or there are more recent ones available? I would need to find this latest version at https://vag-flashinfo.de/ or similar and try to install via usb.
AHG
Current us 1989 but I don’t think it is available anywhere I do think once you get 1985 you should have OTA abilities
GemahenLahen
I'm currently on build 1900 after updating it manually. Right after that, I started receiving OTA updates for other systems. I was on 1985 before, but 1900 feels significantly quicker and snappier.
AHG
I didn’t know you can update to an older SW version. Interesting.

I can imagine updating the older SW to the latest version would be something akin to updating Windows XP
