  1. Use the scan tool to watch the misfire count on each cylinder. The coil packs can come apart when removing, maybe one has separated slightly when you removed to fit the spark plugs? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Maybe they rattle to keep reminding you they are illegal to use on the road. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. https://tps.trade/about-tps/fourplus-range No pricing listed but gives a brief description. I used ‘Coverdale’ to get mine. The parts meet the same quality as normal genuine VW parts. The four plus brake discs I got were the normal genuine part (same part number), the pads were VAG parts, just a different part number. I think the parts are consolidated to reduce the number of parts which can be shared across VAG models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Have a look at the below taken from CLP Tuning in Sheffield, specifically using anti-rattle shims Notes: Anti-rattle shims must be removed from your original pads and installed on these before fitting to the car. Intended for track use only, not road legal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. It’s due a change anyway (year 3, then every two years thereafter). Regarding brake discs and pads, why don’t you look at genuine VW parts from their “Four Plus” range? I bought genuine rear discs and pads from the “four plus” range (cars over 4 years old) and it cost me £150 delivered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. No, just an enthusiasts owners club. Maybe ask on Facebook. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Both of you would fit in well on the Facebook group. Head over there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. How old is your car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I won’t be buying a brand new car, we (as in the mrs) are still waiting for a delivery date for her Mini JCW; ordered in April. I’ll be going more sensible for my next car, I’ve been looking at perhaps getting a VW Tiguan R-Line 4motion DSG (2017/18). Cars are no longer my primary focus. Retiring as soon as possible has become my number one motivation goal over the last 6 months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Looks like the prices have started to fall now. WBAC’s recent valuation of my car is £1300 less than 4-5 weeks ago. In recent weeks I have started thinking about selling my car; not due to its value being strong as it’s all relative and the next car may well be strong too. I’ve owned my car nearly 5 years now, plus, approaching the big Hawaii 5-0, is it time to get away from a car slowly being destroyed by its new young audience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Looks like I did fit the tyres first [emoji3] Looking through my photos around the time I bought my CM reps, found this photo of my wheels curing in a spare room. http://vwroc.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/monthly_2021_07/3779521F-F2B7-4C94-8E8B-FEA291AC98E1.thumb.jpeg.903fe83b245451c002567ab087af386f.jpeg
  12. I did mine before tyres were fitted, purely so I could get them fitted to the car at the same time as fitting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. “Highly sought after manual” [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. As above, ask yourself if you can really afford to run the car. As an example, consumable item such as replacing the front brake discs and pads (with genuine replacements) costs around £1300 just for the parts (looking at an online Audi parts supplier). Then labour on top. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Should check out the R group then. Sometimes I feel embarrassed to say I own a Golf R. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yeah I agree with greg….. Leave it to the experts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I doubt it tbh, but the risk is always there. In the event of an accident, having brakes which are not legal for road use will invalidate your insurance. Will the insurance assessor find out - unlikely, but you never know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Maybe suitable in terms of performance, just the legalities / risks of having such pads people should be made aware of.
  19. DS2500 are track pads, not designed for road use (not road legal). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. You need to diagnose the problem now, start with your coil packs. Check all wiring is fully connected and the earthing bolts are tight. If they are, you need to swap coil packs around, move the coil packs from 2/3 to 1/4. Clear all fault codes then run the engine again. Once the epc light comes back on, re scan for codes. Is it still showing cylinder 2/3 (means the coil packs are ok), or has the error moved to 1/4 (proves the coil packs are causing the issue). If not the coil packs do the same as the above with the spark plugs. If not the spark plugs either it could be down to injectors etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. On the non-gpf cars they do. I think the GPF cars only have the 4 direct. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Sounds like it’s had a hard life if the transfer box gear has slipped off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Anyone from Yorkshire pin point the location?
  24. Impossible to say without a scan. Any other errors on the dash pop up; cruise control / front assist unavailable? Buy yourself a scan tool, mine has paid for itself many times. I had a misfire which caused the engine to go into limp mode a couple of years ago. Would be fine after turning the car off but would soon happen again. In my case it was one of the camshaft actuators. I have OBDeleven, quick scan told me which of the 8 actuators was faulty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. What’s this got to do with the DSG? Might be wise to change your title to something more relevant, someone with similar issues may respond. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
