Kill two birds with one stone. Get Autowatch Ghost installed. 1. You car will still be there in the morning. 2. When you get in your car the start / stop won’t work (unless you push the button) - AWG reverses the usual operation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Error: ACC and weird exhaust note + vibrations
slider09 replied to Ignition1's topic in VW Golf R MK7 Chat
I would query your bill or ask what work the dealership actually did. Literally took 5 mins to replace mine on my drive, and that includes getting out and putting away the one screwdriver required. [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The pro has the usual ‘pro’ benefits over the standard. Duke box, built in hard drive, plays DVD’s, higher resolution Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think you need to change dealer. Especially after your earlier post re camshaft actuators. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Error: ACC and weird exhaust note + vibrations
slider09 replied to Ignition1's topic in VW Golf R MK7 Chat
I had this a couple of years ago, posted on here. My error was something like “ camshaft actuator ‘A’ cylinder 4”. I had the same acc error and the car went into limp mode / slight vibration. Bought the camshaft actuator for around £30 from the dealer and it took 5 mins to fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
We think it was my wife driving; at least she does. So I grassed to the feds and nominated her. Neither of us currently have points and the road in question is a main road out of the village - no residential premises within several hundred metres of the camera. So, hopefully she will get a speed awareness course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why do you find it hard to understand? At this time, we were a one car family. Both myself and my wife drove the car separately multiple times daily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi Not a great start to my day, received a NIP this morning for last week; 29th September. Genuinely I do not know who was driving, at the time we were a single car household and both my wife and I would drive the car daily. The photos from the camera are from the rear, so no chance of identifying the driver. Recorded speed is 36 in a 30. Just spoken to the department who issued the NIP and they’ve advised if we can’t remember who was driving we need to select option 5; which in summary reads: “I am unable to provide sufficient details to identify the driver and I have failed to supply the driver details as required under section 172 of the RTA and only a magistrates court hearing can resolve this” Anyone else been in this same scenario and chosen this option? Does it really go to court, not sure how that can attribute the blame and decide who was driving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is the best gap cover for a brand new car? Is it necessary during the first year as most insurance policies cover the full value for the first year? I’ve bought gap for used cars but never for a brand new car. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Think you need to join a BMW forum now. [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have you tried a DSG reset? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Half a second. [emoji3] Bugger all difference then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unfortunately not, I serviced the DSG on my Mk7 R. Didn’t even know the 7.5 box had a different filter configuration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks like it’s driven through the ‘Max Power’ shelf of Halfords. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

May want to have a look about issues using RS7 plugs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

20” wheels with run flats - you’ll get a softer ride with wooden wheels without tyres. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lot of messing about just for a set of wheels [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had no issues my the engine. Only niggle was the oil consumption was fairly high (around 700ml / 1000 miles). New one on order doesn’t have run flats, I persuaded my wife to stick with the standard black alloys and not to upgrade as they come with run flats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Need a car which can tow; thinking about buying a caravan [emoji3] So, will stay within the VAG, more than likely a mk2 Tiguan R-Line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally I don’t like them [emoji3], but it’s the mrs’ car not mine. I had an R56 Cooper S before my R, which with sport’s suspension and run flat tyres was enough to detach your fillings from your teeth due to the firm ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I ditto this. I love this sort of thing. I wish I had your skills. Your real name isn’t “Ant Anstead” from wheeler dealers is it [emoji3] When do you envisage this to be finished? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve got 19” CM reps and bought stickers off eBay. Sounds tacky, but they are like a gel sticker, not a flimsy film type. Just looking at my emails these were sold as 56mm in diameter. They still look great, even after 20 months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Golf R’s have sadly become the new chav’s chariot. Lots of 18/19 year olds buy now and rag them senseless. Then, realise it’s costing more to run than their paper round pays so sell on. I’d be wary even buying a stock car. Lots of people put their car back to stock before selling on - that can even be a stage 3 car!! Have a look on the FB group at how many owners are selling parts. Not good. I’m probably selling mine shortly, 50 years old next week; I’ll be leaving the Golf R ownership to the young ones [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My 2014 has had two owners - including me. Which I’ve owned for the last 5 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
