  1. I think all manufacturers quote crank horsepower, but dyno’s measure wheel horsepower. Which is why all Dyno figures should be taken with a pinch of salt. They can be massaged to improve figures. The dyno formula to convert whp to chp varies per Dyno operator. 400 on one Dyno could be 380 on another. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. And what’s the official figure according to BMW? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. The temperature gauge shows 90, although it’s actual temperature is fair bit hotter! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Me too…..my 7 year battery seems perfectly fine now the car is being used more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Only distinguishing factor is the red roof. Cooper S’s come with the full JCW badges and body kit now. Only thing a Cooper S can’t have is the red roof. I quite like the contrasting red roof and mirror caps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Wife ordered a JCW 3 door hatch back in April. Still waiting for a delivery date. Last we heard was it was being built without the Harmon Kardon stereo due to chip shortage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Given you’re now the resident BMW guru, maybe you could answer this? Are the BMW 340i and the M340i the same car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I’ve got the ghost immobiliser. VW’s have no built in PIN security. If you have to press a sequence of buttons to start your car you have Autowatch Ghost (or another security device which works like Ghost). One way to confirm if it’s ghost is: 1. Turn on the ignition 2. Enter your button sequence 3. Indicator lights on the dash will flash twice 4. Pull the drivers window switch up 5 times. The indicator lights on the dash will flash 5 times - all this does is put the ghost into “service / valet” mode, so the car will start without entering your PIN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. JB4 tuning box is probably the best tuning box for this platform. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Another vote for CM wheels. I’ve had them on for around 18 months now. No issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Just joined

I would be surprised if you get the Harmon Kardon Stereo. It’s been pulled from the options list from BMW, I would imagine VW are the same. My wife ordered a Mini JCW back in April with the HK stereo. Last we heard it was being built without it due to the chip shortage. The Mini plant in Oxford closed down back end of last month, opening some time in September. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The JB4 AFR harness already has a spliced in connection, so you just join the AFR wire from the JB4 to the loose wire in the harness. Have you bought the JB4 harness or just an extension cable? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Sounds like a DIY job to me now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Change dealership. Too far……it’s bolted to the haldex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. It’s not hard to remove. I’ve done it on my drive 3 times. Go with a good indy if your local dealership aren’t fully cooperating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I was referring to decats failing an MOT. Sports cats can also fail the emissions test on an MOT if not at the correct temperature. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Decats are illegal for use on the road. And, as mentioned above will fail an MOT unless you have it done at a dodgy cowboy garage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thankfully I don’t need to switch anything off. I also have AWG, which can reverse how the start / stop works; so it’s off by default and I push the button to turn it on should I ever see the need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Have you checked the live data for misfire counts on each cylinder? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Go with a sports cat, don’t bother with silly decats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Only affects the 95 ron fuel, which you should be using anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My 2014, 39k mile battery is ok as well. I’ve had the “battery low” message a few times over the past 18 months due to lack of use, however a quick recharge has sorted it out though. I don’t use the stop / start feature at all, maybe this has prolonged the battery in my case? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Grooved. I only bought MTEC as I liked the grooved look and a few people on here said they were ok, plus it has the coating on the hub to stop them rusting. I don’t track or drag my car, just normal daily use, so I’ve no issues with their performance. If I weren’t thinking of selling my car I would probably replace with Clubsport S. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I’ve got MTEC on the front, replaced them 2 years ago. Probably on par with the original discs. I replaced the rears a month ago with genuine. If I were to choose again, I would have chosen Clubsport S discs and pads for the front. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
